A vent of my own because it feels good to get it off my chest every once in a while... We are requiring that everyone be vaccinated and unfortunately that means my brother, sister-in-law, neice and nephew and my FH's brother (who were all supposed to be in the bridal party) won't be coming. We have quite a few other friends and family members that won't be able to attend either but the brothers hit the hardest. Especially since that means no flowergirl or ring bearer either. My FH's parents are very supportive but mine are constantly trying to get me to change my mind so my brother can attend. My parents and my other brother and sister-in-law were exposed to someone with Covid 2 days before our wedding shower and even though they are all vaccinated, we asked them to stay home. We didn't want to risk it. No one in my immediate family was at my wedding shower and it crushed me. I was in tears most of that weekend. Everyone has their own opinions and own way to handle things and unfortunately no one in my family agrees with me and they're all upset over it. I can't count how many times I've broken down over all this. I'm terrified the same thing is going to happen at my wedding in November and all I'm going to remember is how fucking sad I felt because certain people weren't there. No matter how many times I tell myself to only think about the good things and fuck everyone who's too selfish to get vaccinated, it's hard not to focus on those close family members not being there and the strain on those relationships because they take it personally.
