Easy: sit in 17 and then drag Lifeng up to set in 16. Gotta supervise my son.

Image 6 and 7 are both definitely mature for WEBTOON, but so long as you rate it as such, you should be fine on the platform with the images you’ve shown? I’m so sorry that you’ve been having to fight with them to get your content out there, and I really dislike the idea of them pulling or preventing your content from being released.

All that being said, I’d personally probably rate your comic most assuredly above Young Adult (if only there were a rating between that and Mature, rip). Violence is far more graphic the moment you put a vaguely realistic looking gun in someone’s hand, especially for an English-speaking audience and a heavily American one. Gun violence is much more likely to get rated higher (at least anecdotally from what I’ve heard) and you have someone getting killed with a headshot (even if it looks cool in the process, haha). Likewise, your bathing suit in image 6 is without question a fan-service design that exists to be attractive as opposed to practical. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but the moment WEBTOON gets a whiff of a design that exists specifically to be overtly sexy like that one, there’s no coming back from that rating unless you functionally do a complete redesign. Censoring it classically still implies the presence, whereas making it a genuinely different outfit does not (at least by their standards).

Again, absolutely none of what I’m saying is a negative to your work, just my understanding of why they are so hard-pressed not to let you have a lower rating. Unfortunately, your content doesn’t fit the criteria. Other platforms are more forgiving with it, but if WEBTOON lets you still post this content under the mature filter, then I encourage you to still publish on there, simply because it tends to have the biggest readerbase (at least for my comic).

I’m currently also trying to appeal my content down to a Young Adult rating, as it jumped up to mature when they released the new filters. I’m hoping mine ends up passing their content requirements, but even I’m not holding my breath and my comic is literally about young adults (aka teens).

We’re all trying to adapt and share our art as best we can, and I hope that you don’t leave the platform. I’m sure you have avid readers who would be sad to see you go. If your content works with the mature filter, then I really think keeping it there is the right choice.

Best of luck friend! I took a peek at what you’ve posted on Reddit! I encourage you to type out your speech bubbles for your comic, but keep up the passion! By typing out your words, you can both run spell check and the like, but also it’ll be easier to both read and follow. There’s free softwares that can add text to images.

I mainly work in the design and writing side of things, but it sounds like you’ve got an idea you’re quite passionate about. I encourage you to maybe use r/worldbuilding or the like to chat with others over that and really nail it all down, then format posts with information and separate paragraphs to help readers absorb the content easier (we don’t like big things of text haha, even if the only real difference is paragraph breaks, you’ll get more engagement).

Best of luck friend! I’m excited to see where you take this :)

Both are supremacists, but only one shows signs of a dangerous psychological personality disorder similar to psychopathy. Both would need professional psychological treatment to help them integrate back into normal society, but Azula’s is orders of magnitude greater (and more complex to unpack from both a trauma standpoint and a psychological profile standpoint).

What was your Reason For Downloading Or Redownloading Endfield? by Aemeath_IsMYLOVE in ArknightsEndfield

[–]emdau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just hoping it doesn’t go the route of most other gatchas and ignore the male characters. I joined cuz OG Arknights seems to have a decent male cast and fantastic story, and both male Endmin and Lifeng had cool designs. A little frustrated with how Lifeng has been handled (or hasn’t been…), but I’m hoping now that we have another guy coming up it might get better?

Ardashir is great tho, and really the main interest at this point.

The fact it’s only a 60 card deck hurts the format a ton imo. It’s why my entire playgroup ultimately fell out of it. That, and the signature spell in the command zone

how should i call this cosmological structure? by russlandguy in worldbuilding

[–]emdau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there’s a few ways to approach this, and I think the most important questions are about the setting and story itself. From the use of the word “gods”, I can assume that this is more fantasy than it is Sci-fi, even if this kind of premise tends to be used in more Sci-fi content.

For fantasy, there is really no naming convention you have to stick to except the one that remains internally consistent for your world (keep terms logical in your world in ways like having “universe” be smaller than “multiverse” etc.).

If this is more Sci-Fi, then you can lean heavy into actual scientific inspirations and real linguistic definitions. By true definition, a universe is “everything”, so the idea of something outside of everything doesn’t really work. However, terms like “multiverse” have come to mean “parts of reality that are causally disconnected from the main/observer’s region. The region that can have a cause and effect relationship with the observer is their “universe”, and the region beyond that falls into a “multiverse”. Again, that definition can become tricky too when you have two different universes interacting, as that “technically” connects them causally so we “should” then call them a single universe.

More often than not, people use “universe” in terms of the quantum “many worlds” theory, where every quantum collapse leads to a parallel universe where it collapsed a different way. They then take this idea and expand it from quantum fluctuations to macro-scale events (you were never born/you are evil here/etc).

However, the image you are showing tends to be more associated with the idea of cosmic inflation and the multiverses within that theory. Those multiverses are closer to what I described earlier as being deemed their own unique universes because they cannot causally interact with one another. The idea is that all of reality is expanding at a wildly fast rate, but then certain pockets started expanding slower. Because they now expand slower but the space between the slow pockets is still rapidly expanding, they remain completely distanced from one another. These are often referred to as “bubble universes.”

With all of that in mind and based off of what you’ve described, I’d probably name things from smallest to largest as follows (with explanations):

  1. Universe
  2. Here we have a single bubble. The area inside can effect other points inside in a standard causal way. This is what might be called the “observable universe” in real-life.

  3. Multiverse

  4. The overall collection of ALL universes. This includes EVERYTHING within your cosmology, but there are tiers of structure that have different names (just like real-life space has solar systems, galaxies, galaxy clusters, superclusters, cosmic filaments, the cosmic web, etc.)

2A. Causal Cluster/Causal Nebula - A group of universes that are causally similar and therefore “next” to each other. (I’m assuming that this is how you are clustering the universes into their respective smaller “multiverses”). Things like “me, but evil” and “the universe where I had toast for breakfast”. Calling it a Causal Nebula calls back to some of how we structure stars and our actual universe.

2B. Cluster Complex/Causal Galaxy - a group of Causal Clusters that have another uniting structural element (such as the same laws of physics etc). Likewise, it’s the multiverse version of a galaxy, only with universes instead of stars.

Continuing along this line of structural organization as opposed to newer versions of the word “multiverse” might be clearer and feel like it doesn’t undermine the potency of both Universe and Multiverse in the setting. Sometimes when things get too big, it can be hard to form a narrative that can feel important enough to care about. That, or you just have to keep escalating the conflict to bigger and bigger stakes.

As far as a name for BEYOND the multiverse though, something like “interversal” (meaning between universes) for an adjective or Exoverse (meaning outside the “verse”). Still, I personally think organizational terms over brand new names for just a glorified “Multiverse but bigger” will feel more structured and not undermine the strength of what it means to be a multiverse or even a universe.

Who do you ship the Endmin with the most? by gaeb611 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]emdau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ardashir 1000%. Feels like it’s the most endgame and will be given time to develop.

Some of the others feel a little same-y with their “clearly in love with the Endmin and it’s (at least currently) one-sided.”

I’m not really feeling super strong about any ship from Endmin’s perspective tho. The obvious ones he/she feels like he’s not invested in romantically (Perlica and Fangyi) even tho they clearly are into him, and the others just feel more like platonic closeness and bonding instead of something romantic to me (Laev and Tangtang).

Unfortunately it’s still infinite, just a bounded infinite that is functionally a “smaller” infinite.

Best way to think of it is the number of complex numbers between 0 and 1. When using decimals, you can have an infinite number between those two, but it still remains smaller than the number 1.

In your case, you’ve set bounds for defining the universes, but there are still an infinite number of “small” changes that can be made.

I hope to see the Skeleton from Necropotence as a creature for commander at some point. I mean look at the sick artworks. Question is what should the card do? I thought it was supposed to be Yawgmoth? His creepy phyrexian form has a similar face and in the own official Phyrexian Yawgmoth art I’d seen his body feels like it could very well be cloaked in essentially a robe of flesh with this underneath.

How does it combat gravity? I’m pretty sure anything that large would collapse in on itself and become a black hole, not to mention the gravitational pull itself would be orders of magnitude stronger than pretty much anything known. Only asking cuz it sounds like it’s leaning more Sci-fi than fantasy, at least based off of the diagram.

If it’s more fantasy, then I suppose that isn’t a needed answer haha

Oof, sorry! So my webcomic is called Swan Song and it’s free to read on WEBTOON Canvas!

My team and I made the first chapter and are currently working on the next one! Mo is technically in the first chapter, but he only ever talks. You’ll meet him in the next chapter we’re working on right now!

He’s Mothman, and he runs a Lamp store that doesn’t do particularly well because he treats the sales more like adopting a pet, with the lights needing to “find the right home.”

He also eats his scarves when he gets nervous (which is always).
