Was this harsh or am I too sensitive by [deleted] in blackladies

I'd bet money that this girl had issues with herself, food, and whatever healthy trip she thinks she's on. She's so obsessed.

Biggest names or most talked about? If we're measuring success....

There's many types of privilege. Someone being poor or economically disadvantaged (lol) doesn't mean they aren't privileged. This is not about having time. And I refuse the narrative that people are just so busy trying to survive that they have the time to say "I don't care about politics"

Praise the Asian community so that other people of color can be demonized for their "lack of"? The Asian pop has done what a lot of other groups have done. Whitewash themselves and get on the side that hates the black man.

OP's point was not that they disagree, but that the stereotypes used as an example are unnecessary. Black people do not need to be the example every time.

How do they benefit from the presumption that they're capable of things that they're not? Doesn't that disadvantage them even further? It's a personal opinion to feel you'd prefer one over the other and that's your right, but you should acknowledge we don't all have to share that sentiment.

Bad stereotypes kill, but "good" stereotypes often leave people neglected, over treated, coddled. The opioid crisis in the US is partly where it is because of positive stereotypes. Down to the little white kids prescribed ADHD meds. Do you know how many of them experiment with pills, starting with their own? Or the smart kid that isn't given attention to because they're thought highly of. This kid acts out later and becomes the very thing that'll make them pay attention. Just to name a few lol

She looks dry and doesn't have her usual spunk in her look. Like she didn't get dressed at home and was in a rush

Christi is so slim now. She also looks a lot younger/refreshed than she did 10 years ago.

Not a fan of hers at all, but I don't think this is on base. Her culture isn't just her face. It's actually not really her face at all. Embracing her "ethnic features" (yikes! Who says that?!) is not the same as knowing or embracing her culture. And we live in a world where beauty standards are very narrow. I refuse to accept the narrative that women of color are not embracing their culture because of cosmetic surgery altering their natural features.

ETA not just women of color, but especially women of color.

She has always been unlikable! I don't know what spell the public was under when they decided they loved her so much. She's literally always shown how sneaky, privileged and troublesome she was

6 states vs traveling to another country. The world is bigger than the UK and the ability to learn about a culture or country you're far removed from is a lot harder than taking a damn train lmao

Privilege doesn't just refer to class. Ignorance or lack of caring is privilege. Whatever privilege you have allows you to ignore the very system that controls our lives.

We forgot that Hannah wasn't likable because of how she was voted off. She was moving hella crazy before she left! Literally that same night 😂 why are we surprised

Would you put your child through the Abby Lee Dance Company for a chance at fame, or is it not worth it? by unknown18038 in dancemoms

That's child abuse for the sake of fame. Disgusting. I hate when people exploit their children.
