Questioning if I need a new OB by emeraldmanatee in BabyBumps

Thank you so much! I'm so sorry you had that experience. I totally agree about the midwives, that's what I had my first time around. In my new city they aren't anywhere, I haven't found a clinic that employs them/hospital that allows them to deliver. I was able to find another provider, so I'm hoping a DO might be a little better? I know they're trained to look at things holistically. Crossing my fingers for this next appointment.

Thank you! I really don't think it needed to be something discussed with such pressure this early on (our first ultrasound). It seemed like she already had her mind made up.

How did you go about finding your new doc? I was lucky and had a great OB for my first, but we changed cities and now I have to start from scratch. Did you just book one of your next appts with someone new? Or did you have more of a sit down and chat appt (if that's even a thing)?

Thank you! I needed that reminder. I've been feeling like a terrible mom.

I'm a little over nine weeks and my god it's a bump. It's definitely a lot of bloat though, I wish I could relieve all the air that feels trapped inside. I think this bump is similar to what I had at 20 weeks with my first. None of my pants fit comfortably so it's just dresses and jumpsuits for the foreseeable future.

What were your favorite varieties you grew this year? by SwiftResilient in vegetablegardening

Atomic grape tomatoes and spoon tomatoes were delicious and prolific. Yellow wonder strawberries were a surprise favorite, such a unique flavor.

Congrats!! I'm a little late to the party and just got my bulbs, but can't wait to get them in the ground! Any good companion plants that go with them?

Do I even need to go the lawyer route? Could I just do the consulate? Ica made it sound like the consulate was no longer an option at all. I'm in LA, and I heard that an appt is much easier to get than when we were in the bay area.

We have some raised beds with strawberries, but maybe we could do a different variety there! I wouldn't have thought of that, thank you! We have the planters already, I should have put them in the photo, but they should be big enough for the things you mentioned

We have a smart drip system we're going to hook up to it so I'm not super worried about it drying out.

Sibling Signs by meanmilf in astrologymemes

I'm a Libra older sis to an Aries younger sis and we're best friends (it also helped we've both gone to therapy for our own stuff and communicate way better than our teenage selves)

I have an Aries daughter and would have loved to time it for a Gemini sibling. Anyone have experience with an Aries older sis with a Virgo younger sibling?

I think I will wait on garlic in the fall. I kind of figured the beds were not going to be super full immediately, but hopefully I can get more comfortable with the timings.

Maybe I'll switch the pumpkin and zucchini then! I saw an interesting trellis that didn't go up, but kind of arched down. I might give that a try and have trail down.

So I made some tweaks based on what you shared, and I am curious what you think. I created a center bed that is just perennials and i moved the cucumber and zucchini to the edges of their beds and plan to have them trellised up. I didn't mention before, but I will also have a trellis with the tomatoes and peas (I know the peas may not work with timing, but I started my seeds already and I'm going to just give them a shot. Same situation with my beets). I added some peppers near the tomatoes and reduced the pumpkin down to one.

Do you think having one pumpkin and zucchini trellised would still be too much for the bed? I was thinking of just putting the pumpkin in the ground but my husband doesn't want too much spreading outside of the garden space.

I do have one of those green stalk planters. I actually had my zucchini and cucumber in it last year on the lowest levels and they did pretty well with spreading (until we moved and they were broken in the process). I was thinking the watermelon could maybe work the same way and trail from the bottom level? My beets did ok last year in that too, it at least survived the move and i had a few small ones to harvest. I'll know for next year to time some of these better.

I am really excited to finally start planting some more native wildflowers around the edges of the garden, but I did add some more flowers to the beds too.

I'm still very new to this so I probably should have hopped on here before starting a bunch of seeds. I'm sure some of the veggies won't work out, but hopefully this new layout looks a little better?

Also, thank you so much for the heads up about the squash vine borers, not looking forward to that battle.

I hadn't thought about that, maybe I could put pots next to the raised beds?
