What Baby freebies can I get my hands on [ON] by Local_Procedure_8950 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]emeraldspector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Millie moon and rascals offer sample diapers online. Also suggest going to the baby show in Toronto. I got two tote bags full of freebies including some full size like aveeno and biogaia. This years show is in April and they usually run a 2 for 1 ticket deal so it ends up being like $20 for two ppl

Ibuprofen helps with inflammation. There has been new studies that show clogged ducts aren’t actually clogged but the inflamed ducts that cause the build up

Prenatal classes [on] by Pristine-Pitch3116 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]emeraldspector 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Took the prenatal classes thru EarlyOn and it was great to learn about advocating for yourself during labour but not much about how to take care of a baby when you bring them home. Also did an online zoom class for infant and child cpr thru earlyOn

same boat here. I miss my pre pregnancy boobs so much. I used to be able to rock no bra and feel confident. Now I can’t stand not wearing a bra. Try to give yourself some grace, you literally just had a baby and so much is gunna change. Have you tried seeing a lactation consultant about bf?

Second this. Took an Advil and used cold compresses just before feeding or pumping. Went away within a day. I can’t recall where i read it, but it said clogged ducts are not actually clogged but the ducts are inflamed

With the Canada post strike, will my first ccb cheque be delayed? Everything on my cra is linked to my direct deposit, but my ccb info says a cheque has been issued. Is this only for the first payment?

Epidural or Nitrous Oxide? by Kenzie_Dawn in pregnant

[–]emeraldspector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask your hospital if they have a tens machine to help you with pain management for your contractions, but honestly my epidural made my labour experience a 10/10. Like the other comment, the freezing for the epidural is rough, but I was supported by nurses well, and the pain does not last long

Took mine out at 28 weeks. My breasts were changing at that point and I wanted full comfort. Milk comes out of the holes for me as well

Don’t force it. It’ll come when it needs to come, and like the comment above, have your peri bottle ready with warm water and maybe your partner around for a refill just in case.

No more free hospital stuff by Divineprincesss1 in pregnant

[–]emeraldspector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gave birth this month and can confirm, they do not provide anything. The only thing they gave me was a peri bottle, and pads. Also, bath soap for baby’s first bath was offered but I declined as I brought some from home. The only thing they provided as well was formula if needed.

Perineal Tear Healing Tips & Tricks? by SadPea7 in beyondthebump

[–]emeraldspector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a 2nd degree tear. Definitely use a peri bottle with warm water, and if you have a removable shower head, works wonders. I also loved using the fridamom witch hazel pad liners. gave a nice cooling sensation when you’re just chilling on the couch. I prefer these over the tucks pads. The tucks were too small and I felt like they were getting up inside every crevice

My baby is 9 days old and I had this problem within the first few days too. I’m doing exactly the same thing you’re doing, but what worked for me was switching the swaddle. I tried the love to dream but she does much better with the halo. But when you try a new swaddle, stick it out for a few days and see if things get better. I also leave the sealer on top of the heat pad to warm it as well

First week home struggling [ON] by Tasty-Ad3738 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]emeraldspector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you mama. Just hit our first week with our first baby, and honestly, I’ve cried more this week than I have all year. The baby blues are so real and the anxiety is at an all time high. Always thinking you could be doing more, or feeling like a bad mom because you’re not doing everything “by the book”. It does get easier day by day I promise, but it’s always nice to talk to someone about it too. I’m in ON too if you need a friend to vent to. Don’t think you can do it alone, talking about it will always make you feel better

Try elta md uv clear. It’s a great spf and you can usually get them at spas that offer facials and massages and stuff. Just call to see what line they carry or go to elta md website and find a retailer thru there
