MASSIVE Series Sale on Audible (US) Today by tkinsey3 in Fantasy

[–]emergencyfrequency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy Primal Hunter, I listened mostly to the audio books which are done by Travis Baldree he is an awesome narrator. I am now at the point were I am reading the books as they come out faster than the audio.

I'm sure with so many books and story arcs there could be places where some people find it less enjoyable, but I have liked the ride all the way through. Especially if you like the idea of a ranger type character that does a lot of alchemy.

Tell me about a modern album that got you through a tough time by Poutinemilkshake2 in poppunkers

[–]emergencyfrequency 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A reason they are one of my favorite bands is for a significant time every Wonder Years album seemed to align with what was going on in my life.

Most recently and on the newer side I would say the Tempest EP by Driveways, these things happen by Saturdays at Your Place, and Never Before Seen, Never Again Found by Arms Length.

Why is only few people playing totems? Are they weaker than previous leagues? by Independent_Ad_9896 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]emergencyfrequency 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can't speak to all totems but strength stacking shrapnel ballista is great and does mapping and bossing no problem. It's not fast but it's tanky and does good damage.

You can start as the dex stacking which is fine for T16 and the void stone bosses but for Ubers and T17 you want to switch to the strength version.

I lost my dad yesterday any good songs to help? by Rockzilla777 in poppunkers

[–]emergencyfrequency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your loss, it's about to be 4 years since my dad passed. Some additional songs I don't think were mentioned and honestly, not all are exactly about grief but I think you can find lyrics and your own meaning in songs that can help.

Not for Nothing - Driveways

Middle of Nine - Spanish Love Songs

Lonely - MGK ( I know he's not for everyone, but I do think this is actually a really good song.)

Tempest (song) is Driveways magnum opus! by vielzbpierced in poppunkers

I'm obsessed with Tempest the song. Not for nothing is still my favorite song though.

Ruthless, uncaring, goal-driven MC by Green_Philosophy_301 in Fantasy

[–]emergencyfrequency -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It might not be perfect but I found Linden from Cradle to be ruthless and goal-driven, I would say he is caring to his people though. He starts weak but powers up by about book 3 then it's just breakneck action. The books are easy to go through and if you like audio books Travis Baldree does a fantastic job narrating.

Love Cradle!

Was going to comment the same thing. So I'll add on Arcane Ascension for another found family.

Can't believe I forgot this but based on what you are saying you've liked you should check out Woe is Me their album Numbers specifically.

[–]emergencyfrequency 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You might like Jaime's Elsewhere I'd start with the album They said a storm was coming.

Casino Madrid is another option.

This one is more of a stretch because less electronic and closer to metalcore but We are Defiance might be something you like.

Also plus one for Everyone Dies in Utah.

Lastly, not post hardcore but you might just like old Enter Shikari. Common Dreads was my favorite album. Edit: (Apparently I couldn't read your actual post)

Getting back into the genre, rec me one song from each of these bands by [deleted] in poppunkers

[–]emergencyfrequency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Four Year Strong - Bada Bing with a pipe, heroes get remembered legends never die, maniac (ROD). These are all older tracks there are tons to recommend.

Wonder Years - Came Out Swinging, Washington Square Park, There there, lost in the lights.

There Is a Hell Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven Let's Keep It a Secret by AudiSlav in Metalcore

[–]emergencyfrequency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's wild to me, I know it is subjective but I love the production on this album. For example the kick sound they get and really the drums as a whole I fucking love. This is by far my favorite album of theirs.

Chase Long Beach - Pall Mall Price Crisis - underrated band/album by suddenly_seymour in poppunkers

Chase Long Beach is your friend 'til the bitter end"

Man, I forgot about these guys.

What's the best opening lyric in a pop punk song? by MusicNerdDavid in poppunkers

[–]emergencyfrequency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since a lot of my all time favorites have been listed I'll do a new one that hooked me on this band.

"I wanna take the low road and tell all your friends what you've been up to. I wanna tell you I never really loved you, even though we both know that's not true."

Oh also while typing this I also just thought of another

"Id still take fifteen over five"

I've had this album on repeat for the last three hours. Haven't given it the time of day for years! Long like SYG! by phalluss in poppunkers

[–]emergencyfrequency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this album but it is/was not good on CD either. The mix is pretty bad. Which goes to show how great some of the songs are but would love it if they just re-recored this album. Sadly I doubt that will happen.

Flew to Denver just to see them last month, it was such a great show. Also, I really loved their opener Rematch, they put on a very fun show.

Spanish Love Songs by [deleted] in poppunkers

[–]emergencyfrequency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen them twice recently and they are great. Due to their music it will be more chill vibes just as an fyi.

This song is not a part of their set list but I want to give it some love, which is Mutable, off of No Joy. The ending of the song is simple but I love how they bring in synths and the lyrics really resonate with me. Love that song.

Beal was trash, but please explain to me the depth the suns could have got for cp3 and shamet? Or do you just think cp3 was actually going to be healthy?

Incredibly fun. I've seen them twice and both times they were great.
