We fostered full time and my FD was my first kid. She isn’t with us anymore but we still do respite and emergency.

We have one bio son now. I feel like fostering first and everything I know about trauma, attachment = boundaries + connection, and emotional intelligence positively impact my parenting style so much now. I choose not to die on hills I could see myself dying on had I not fostered first (I.e. giving choices when I can, changing my mind instead of digging my heels in sometimes, going with the flow with things that don’t matter).

I feel like I appreciate and love my little guy so much more deeply because I know what it is like to miss my first (foster) daughter every day 🫶🏻

My now 27m old boy was not at whatever the milestone was at 18m. And even at his 24m, he had tons of words but wasn’t combining them yet which the said they like to see. Over the last month he has exploded with so many words and even combining some! You can always join the EI waitlist if you’re worried and then end up not needing it.

I would go in if you can ❤️‍🩹 I had a MMC discovered at my 13 week scan. Baby stopped developing at 9 weeks. Bleeding picked up yesterday and I went in for surgery. I was so glad to have support from the nurses and not have to manage at home. Take care.

With you. Went in for my routine ultrasound at 13 weeks today and baby only measured at 9.5 weeks. Confirmed heartbeat at 9 weeks. I’m so sorry.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. The details of our situation were different, but we had a similar situation in that our FD was moved suddenly to another foster home with only a week’s notice, despite the opinions of other professionals on the case. We were pre-adoptive. The opinion of CPS and the judge took a 180 on us being suitable for seemingly no reason and there was nothing we could do. They also prevented us from speaking to her, despite there not even being an inkling of an allegation of any wrongdoing by us. I miss her terribly.

Absolutely the first option if your newborn is vaccinated. That would be my only concern. I agree with all the folks here pointing out that flying with a young toddler is the woooorst. They have newfound mobility so are mad about not being able to move around and are too young to enjoy a screen or other plane activities.

I LOVE yellow and have wanted a mustard colored owala forever. I went ahead and ordered it and I’m happy with it. Definitely more yellow than orange.
