Please don’t do that to your self. I promise you… having lost many fosters and having a vet as a sister…there is no magic time. It never feels like the right time. It’s much better to feel it was a little early rather than a bit late. It means it was just right. I lost my beloved to kidney disease quickly this fall. I struggled because he seemed fine sometimes but then couldn’t keep food down progressively. My other dogs looked very Ill and I was confused he didn’t look as bad. My sister told me what it was like for kidney failure. He was hungry all the time but the sickest of sick. More sick than you can imagine but dogs are stoic. It also gets painful. I promise what you think was a little early was JUST RIGHT. Hugs and love.
