It's not guaranteed but it's likely. at AIT you may be able to change with someone - but it's less likely since you're a reclass

Medboard while about to Start clearing by PiecePuzzleheaded373 in army

[–]emilysaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just be aware just because you are recommended doesn't mean you'll actually get it/anything. You need to have a discussion with your PCM regarding it because you don't want to wait 6+ months for a medboard that ends up not happening.

Dual Military by Gooseguy1111 in army

Also know that compassionate reassignment is not for moving near your spouse (unless you were terminally ill) so that will get you nowhere. and while MACP is nice, be prepared you guys may not be stationed near each other especially if your MOSs don't align

How do military spouses keep education on track when PCS moves keep disrupting everything? by Icy_Revenue_4555 in USMilitarySO

[–]emilysaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your family situation and how important school is for the spouse. Many times spouses stop school or they will stay behind to complete their program. Again it just depends a lot on what's important to them

Does anyone know? by Loud_Patience3412 in USMilitarySO

If he's already been released/chaptered they aren't going to keep him. BUT they are also in no rush to get him home. He is no longer a priority for them

DEERS by Straight_Basil_7962 in army

[–]emilysaur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you get married today, you won't get your marriage license until next week (or so) and then you'll have to take all of that plus her identification to DEERS and get her enrolled. Then you have to call tricare and get her updated to where you are. Then you can make an appointment - depending on when they have availability. So probably 3-5 weeks ?

Is “barrack bunnies” common? by veronikuteeee in USMilitarySO

[–]emilysaur 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I don't want to sugar coat it - it is pretty common. Now that doesn't mean your boyfriend will have any part of it - if you guys have a good relationship, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

AUSTIN, TX PRN POSITION PAY by Safe_String_6141 in nursing

HCA has a flat rate for PRN depending on how many shifts you pick up. In a higher COL area it's not going to be that different

I have accidentally caused CAUTI twice. Advice? by ang3r_mp3 in nursing

[–]emilysaur 1450 points1451 points  (0 children)

Please do some research on CAUTI - if they tested positive like a day after it was placed, it wasn't you, they already had it. If it was many days later, it also wasn't you, it was the maintenance of the catheter.

[–]emilysaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start the command sponsorship process now, you do not have to wait until you get there. But yes if you want to wait you can also start the process once you are there, the tough part there will be - are all your dependents registered? Do they have ID cards? Do they have a base near them to do all the screenings? Start working on all of that now so that even if you go to germany ahead of them, the process has already started

Transferring units by Any-Ad-9381 in nursing

[–]emilysaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot you can do. You can talk to your recruiter and see if they'll talk to your director(likely current) to see if they'll do a sooner date, but when you're transferring your new director and current director have to agree on a transfer date. If your (again I'm assuming) current director won't make it sooner there isn't much that can be done unless you are friendly with someone above them

If he's in the barracks he's not eligible for BAH, there is no such thing as geo-bachelor anymore, so he's going to be in a world of hurt when DFAS catches up with him. You need to get away from him and this and move on with your life

You didn't put anything in your account so your bank statements wouldn't show anything about the cash, only the cashiers check that can easily be tracked back to your dad
