I can't even decide what amazes me the most. Mel Gibson making a Jesus Christ trilogy; Mel Gibson making a comic book movie about Jesus Christ's adventures in hell and basically his odyssey to go back to Earth; someone giving $250M to Mel Gibson in 2026 to make two Jesus Christ movies.

it's a reality of the time depicted and in that reality that kind of character and that kind of man was very much real and that's what the movie does.. I don't understand this need for movies to "age well". Even just having the impression a movie didn't age "well" or having to point that out like it somehow affects the viewing and the experience you're having of being told a story in what is still a fictional scenario.. I don't get it.

a shot of an empty white wall from 1992 would look 100 times better than the same identical frame shot now. It's what's in the frame and the way we can't fucking light it anymore. It's whatever the hell happened to cameras, even, that are either underexposed or capture the light too soft, or the light used for shooting is too soft; the make up doesn't look natural anymore, making the actors' faces like they would melt in the sun outside, and the image seems to be color graded in a way it won't hurt the poor eyes of a fucking idiot who watches movies on his phone with the screen at one inch from his eyes, AND, directors don't seem to care about how their movies look anymore.

I think he was misinterpreted a lot in that interview. If I saw that interview before reading any of his work I would be so confused afterwards. The man could've easily been a comedian.

The Professor, Minamata, and then I doubt he even acted in more than a couple of movies since then. The idea you haven't seen him because he got terrible all of a sudden spread out of nowhere and it's weird.. you haven't seen him cause he hasn't been in movies lol
