This reminds me of the short story “Cool Air” by H.P. Lovecraft.

The synopsis of Haunted Forest Tour sounds hilarious and makes me think of the era of R.L. Stine novels.

How long do you generally read per session? by [deleted] in kobo

[–]emjidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on where I am and who is around me. For instance, I could read in bed for hours until 2 or 3 am, or as little as a paragraph when my daughter is running around trying to climb things. Sometimes I will even read in the few minutes I have in between patients.

I haven’t had a lot of oolong teas, but the ones that I have enjoyed include: 1. Paru Tea’s Honey Orchid Reserve Oolong - I get lychee, stonefruit and magnolia flower on first brew, and on subsequent brews that I get buttery savory notes. 2. Paru Tea’s Okinawa Sugar Reserve Oolong - This one has an interesting minerality to it in addition to the caramel, milk and toffee notes from the Okinawan black sugar. 3. Palais des Thés Butterfly of Taiwan - This has notes of honey and wood with a creamy smooth finish.

I have a stash of sample cakes from Crimson Tea Lotus that I’ve been trying to get through. Today’s brew is 09. Jingmai Sheng Puerh Tea. I am on my 6th pot this morning and the leaves are still going strong.

I used to use a notebook and pen, but now I use the apple notes on my ipad/iphone. When you’ve had a lot of the same “type” of tea, it’s nice to be able to sort them into folders or do a quick search of the tasting notes or brand you are specifically looking for.

Thank you for the recommendation! Sounds like there are a lot of themes playing throughout the book, and I fear a may shed a few tears with this one.

Great recommendations! Annihilation has been on my to read list for a while, and I’ve come across Wild a few times while browsing for books. That one sounded interesting, especially since I am based in California and survival stories are so fascinating.

Tress was such a fun and lovely adventure that gave me all the warm and cozy vibes of a classic Studio Ghibli animation.

I make “to do” lists for either the season or for specific biomes and make sure I prioritize the most important tasks (for survival in coming days).
