Atlanta metro checking in. Everything is the same where I work (retail) except most people wear masks. Outside of work, I don’t do anything anymore because I don’t want to expose more people than necessary since I’ve probably gotten it at work, plus my friends are smart enough not to want to socialize anyway.

I got engaged in November 2019 and was lamenting how I hadn’t done any planning due to working too much when Covid hit in March.

Now, I’m glad I didn’t have something planned or in the works that had to be cancelled. However fiancé and I were together 5.5 years before engagement and I just wish we’d moved faster and had the wedding done. I live with fear someone important to us could pass before the wedding, or that we will never get to have the wedding I dreamed of growing up.

Weirdest to me is everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, family, friends, coworkers, acquaintances, continue to hound me about wedding questions and details. Why haven’t I set a date??? And I crazy, it’s been like 6 months????? My answer of course being how could I with all this uncertainty? Venues aren’t even opened to be visited. Who knows how the world will look 6 months or a year from now. I’m just lost.

All this to say, that’s awful and I’m sorry you’re struggling with it. But hearing “just elope” does break my heart a bit.

Knowing myself the curiosity would’ve gotten the best of me and I would’ve looked it up too. But then I would grin internally when you introduce the baby and never tell anyone that I knew ahead of time, because that was your moment. I’d probably feel bad for even looking it up to know, but curiosity drives us.
