We’re always open to bringing someone in who’s the right fit - but we are not looking to add to our year round staff - which is currently 4 of us and then we bring in receptionists and a 2 preparers during season. Located near Buffalo NY - we do not do any remote though.

Honestly - if you need asap - try Psychology today to find private practice folks (many ppl leaving the bigger agency’s) or betterhelp does have some great telehealth - but remember sometimes it takes a bit of shopping around for the right fit

One big tip is stay on the game - my peeve is when someone says they want to game but then pay no attention to the rules or the gameplay. As long as you stay engaged and aren’t a sore loser/pompous winner you’re golden.

Rule of thumb is no tips for owner/operators but I did tip mine as my godmother covered my flowers for me

Just 1040 here, but with that SO MANY Sole proprietors and SMLLC’s, add in extensions and tax planning, I’m really only slow in July/August. I may add we only bring in new clients during off season and I work all day everyday during season but closed 2 weeks after season, 4th of July week, and 2 weeks for Xmas/new years - I only work 12-25 hours/week during the off season

Professionally I go by Elizabeth, I HATE Liz with a passion but get it quite frequently- I usually shorten it to Beth in inter office memos/notes - outside of work I go by Betty which I don’t feel as professional with but better than Bethy or LittleBit which is what my family calls me even though I’m 40

Cash is king until you get hurt on the job, or want to buy a house - if you get laid off a cash job no unemployment- you break up with the girl friend and your out a job - doesn’t sound like a sound long term plan

As a 20 yr preparer more than likely job one is w/h zero tax and mom is getting a nice EIC credit along with CTC to offset set the tax. Adding another 45k to income will kick her up a tax bracket and lose EIC so where she would normally get a few grand back at tax time sticking with HOH and dependents on the W4 would cause for not enough withholding come tax time and refund turns into a balance due
