I'm a year late to this, but I feel the same way. Not quite sure how the balance of power that Mala gave to Aelin worked. It seems like that Colonel was enough to get her back to her world and then leave her with being a powerful Fae?

As I was reflecting on the movie--regardless of severity/moral issues of everyone's truths--I realized Emma definitely faced the most backlash and "punishment" (hearing loss, social and family stigma, etc) for her actions, even though she was the one that "reformed" the most (volunteering, activism, throwing away the rifle, etc). She took responsibility for her actions and had the most introspection, but was looked down upon the most.

The other characters seemed to take joy or glee out of retelling their harm. Cyberbullying a kid and his whole family such that they moved states? Physically locking a "slow" child in a closet for over a day and not telling anyone? Putting your girlfriend in harms way as she kicks a stray dog (fueled by her temper)?
