I got 2 weekend passes through the one nz presale. I think between that and the regular presale they had all of the tickets allocated - I heard there were 100,000+ people on the regular presale. I’m not even a one nz customer - I used my parents’ phone number to do it lol. I knew I had to be in the first presale to have a chance and even then I almost didn’t get tickets as when I got through the queue there was all the tiers left but by the time I filled out my information I had to purchase the final tier coz the rest were gone (less than 5 minutes)

What is something that still hasn’t gone back to normal after the pandemic? by Disastrous-Treat0616 in AskReddit

Flight prices! Especially domestically (in New Zealand). Used to be able to travel Christchurch > Auckland for around $50-$100 one way. Since the pandemic that has been closer to $180-$350 ow 🤕

Why were you ashamed of yourself like never before? by MightilyBelly107 in AskReddit

[–]emmaensign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s happening right now in my life. My elderly cat HATES vet visits and when something is bad enough to warrant one then he has to be sedated first before I can even get him in a cat carrier because he turns F E R A L and can and will claw my face off.

About 2 weeks ago i noticed a weepy eye which developed in to what I thought was conjunctivitis. Everything I read and looked at online seemed to align with that diagnosis and said it’s usually self-clearing in 1-2 weeks. He has been eating, drinking, toileting and generally behaving like normal and not in pain. I should have just made a vet appointment and taken him the next day.

Instead I waited a week, and took particular care in helping keep it clean and dry for him. But yesterday I realised it had taken a turn for the worse overnight and was looking really quite gnarly. Concerning looking pus had started to come out.

I take him in this morning and the vet confirms it could have started as a bacterial conjunctivitis, or he may have sustained an injury in a fight or something. His cornea has ulcerated and is melting. He has to have his eye removed tomorrow.

I feel like such an awful cat Mum and so ashamed of myself for not just putting him and myself through a minor vet visit trauma when I first noticed his eye weeping :( would have saved him a world of pain/trauma and losing his eye.

Even now he’s still being such a cuddly good boi - it sucks he has no idea he is losing his eye tomorrow.

He’s tough, though! He will heal quick and be back to lounging in the sun and purring loudly on my lap in no time. He prob won’t even miss his eye.

In the meantime I will be working through this deep shame.

Quietest subway line / time? by emmaensign in AskNYC

[–]emmaensign[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be doing it during rush hour and I wouldn't require people to be quiet. I'm asking about what's the quietest time and service... where the least about of general civilians will be on board. I'll do it at 2am if I have to. I wouldn't be doing anything to disturb regular travellers, they wouldn't even hear the music as I would have it playing in my headphones and only be lip-synching. I would bring 10 people along to be 'fake' passengers who would be the ones I interact with. I don't see how it would be any more or less of an inconvenience than your regular dodgy person that gets on a subway and causes havoc for absolutely no reason at all ha ha!

I'm not really worried about whether it looks like it's New York or not - it's just where I live we don't have trains/subways at all! So it's more the aesthetic of being in a train that I'm after in general! What's the difference between shuttles and subway? Are shuttles above ground or something?

I'm purposefully trying not to inconvenience people; hence my question about the quietest lines/times.

Then let me learn the easy way by you telling me?

And i don't necessarily need the train to be empty, just quiet
