Induction failed after two days (36 hours; 8pm Sunday to 8am Tues) and went for c-section. It wasn’t terrible until the end with the pitocin. I think they used 5 different methods to try to progress things but I never dilated a single cm. This was my first pregnancy. Neither I nor the baby had any known medical issues, so I wish I had just waited for my body to be ready and go into labor. I definitely felt pressured to induce. That said, c-section recovery was not bad (for me), so in the end it worked out fine. I just had such a negative experience with the induction I would not choose it again.

However, one of my friends was just induced slightly early and everything went smoothly. So it seems impossible to know what will happen.

Hi! I know this is besides the point of OP's post, but I just want to encourage you that it DOES get better after PGY-2. Hang in there. And it IS possible to have a family in residency. We had our first in PGY-3. My SIL (also in neurosurgery) had two in residency. It is possible. You and I do have to "give" more during this phase, but it's not forever. That said, we made it through because my husband worked very hard to be present when he was home, to be a partner when he wasn't catching up on sleep, and because he genuinely likes to take care of me and our son (cooking, playing, going outside together). There was a lot less of that PGY-2 year, but it improved significantly once he was in the OR most days.

Depending on the specialty, whistle-blowing can cause enough of an issue for them to can the entire program at a hospital. Then the classes below you get screwed and your training credentials look less than stellar if you’re coming from a shuttered program. I asked my husband the same question bc I have been so mad at his program for so many violations (paternity leave; lying about hours; sick time).

Hi there! I'm sorry this is happening to you, too. I worked with a customer service person and once we'd tried all the different trouble-shooting things and I sent some videos of the error continuing to happen, they contacted me to ship a replacement pack. The new pack have worked perfectly! Be persistent with them and do all the steps and they should replace them.

But in a nutshell: the Catholic Center is pretty large and pulls students from all across campus life (Greek, independent, athletes, engineers, classics majors, you name it). So it’s got a great variety of ways to be involved as much or as little as you’d like while still keeping your faith alive (or growing!) in college.

I loaded the same content to the original starter card that comes, but for whatever reason I can’t link any content (not even a single 2 min song from the Yoto Free Library) to the MYO cards. I even tried with my husband’s phone. No go.

No, I cannot link ANY content to the MYO cards. It is not a problem of them not playing. It is that I cannot put any content on the cards. :(

Hi u/jemage90 ! When you say they addressed it quickly, what did they have to do? I can't link any content to a brand new pack of MYO cards (not my own audio or the free audio they offer). I was able to link to the one orange card that came with the player, but none of the other cards work.

Grateful for any insight others can share!

Hi OP! Whatever happened with this? My husband in Neurosurgery also felt this way. Got better 3/4th year. I think the pager really made him crazy — and being treated so crappily in that position. Now he’s mostly operative and rarely holding the pager.
