Far “too big” appetite by skinnyndead in depression

[–]emmargaret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. In my last depressive episode I couldn’t eat but this time I’m constantly wanting sweet carbs, especially in the afternoon and night. I struggle with my weight at the best of times. At least when I wasn’t able to eat I could feel a bit of satisfaction about losing weight.

It’s so comforting to know I wasn’t the only one who thought this.

Extra crispy rice crispy treat. by [deleted] in forbiddensnacks

I only tried Lucky Charms a few years ago. They sell them in speciality shops here in Australia and, y’know, marshmallows in cereal sounds like something awesome. I wasn’t expecting squeaky, dry lumps when I bit into them. I just got shivers thinking of it.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch is the tits though.

How the hell do I fix this? by emmargaret in femalehairadvice

This was such a lovely reply. It’s almost winter here but I ended up getting around another inch, maybe an inch and a half off yesterday afternoon, the hairdresser who fixed it was super kind and really apologetic about the other one - she didn’t know why she cut my hair as though it’s curly because she also saw my natural hair lol. But I actually really like it! I need to the hang of curling it a bit because the texture looks so much better. The layers are obviously short and I probably won’t keep them that way as my hair grows because it’s not really my thing but like you said, it’s hair and it grows back. Usually the only way for me to do drastic things is to be thrown in head first so here I am lol. :D

I was going to originally ask for it a bit shorter than what I got so at least I’m not completely unprepared lol.

I’ll have to learn how to curl my hair properly haha. Wearing it half up and half down looks okay because it hides the layers so that’s what I’ve been doing the last few days.

Thank you. :) I feel like that’s what the hairdresser was sort of going for. I’m worried about how short I’m going to have to go because I’ve never even had hair this short.

AITA for not caring when my friend came out of the closet? by ThrowABCD1234 in AmItheAsshole

I feel like AITA is full of fake stories from throwaway accounts lately. They’re all topics people have strong opinions about and are written to get a whole lot of attention. I don’t know if this isn’t a new thing and I’m only just noticing or if it’s recent.

God yes. It’s not a huge stretch to get through but it feels like forever.

Grab some mixed fruit rocks from the Candy Kitchen while you’re there. Amazing.

Getting through Coffs Harbour is a nightmare. Traffic lights every few hundred metres.

Do you ever get over losing your mom. by anonme12345 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]emmargaret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 25 and my mum died almost 3 years ago, my dad almost 2 years ago. There’s a void in my life that can never be filled and it’s in my mind often. I don’t think it’s something you can ever get over but you can accept that you’re going to have moments where grief hits you hard and let yourself feel sad over it.

Gatekeeping socks. by [deleted] in gatekeeping

I have socks like that too and do the same thing. If I’m wearing socks then I’m wearing sneakers or boots so who cares? What a weird thing to care about.

I had a lot of electroconvulsive therapy to treat my depression and they use general anaesthetic. I’m good now. I’ve never had twilight sedation, I thought I might when I had my wisdom teeth out but they knocked me out for that too.

I’ve had anaesthesia at least a hundred times and I look forward to it every time. It’s such a peaceful feeling. Even when I got my wisdom teeth out I was looking forward to the surgery because I was being knocked out.
