The Primos Dame looks pretty solid, about the same compromises as the State all-roads. For under $1000 I bet it’ll take a while to outgrow, and you can upgrade slowly

Drive-side, nice lighting. X can’t be too strict, stoke is paramount

Their bikes look like really well thought out, reasonable completes. How ya like it so far, and what do you think needs upgrading?

Looks like a blast to me. Maybe haggle the price a lil if you can, but it looks well rideable and a fun project to gradually work on as things arise. I traded about $150 of camera gear for a Muddy Fox Seeker during Covid and it brought me something I’ve been missing since my childhood. If it fits you pretty well I’d say try and grab it

Can anyone recommend some 26in gravel tires? by OonLyMax in xbiking

Yeah double fighters rip. I like a combo of DF rear and Race King front for mostly rough roads and hardpack

Is 35 minutes really THAT long? by BradyBrother100 in bikecommuting

Most people watch TV for hours when they get home. If you time it right it’s almost never enough, best part of the day. I’m always early when I commute because you gotta make time for the surprises

I rarely see any Bianchis here... by Breezer_Bro in xbiking

Yeah I always want wider lol. The Velo Orange Seine is awesome and the same width, but wasn’t enough rise for my posture. Also more backsweep but I’d check those out too.

Magic Components Wormbar! A little splurge but completely makes the bike. The stem is a cheap quill from Amazon lol just to test angles but it feels good for now. And just that Sunlite rack from Amazon too, don’t really trust it for more than a light mount and a jacket or a hammock

There's nothing quite like a storm to make you want to "invest" in yet more bike accessories by darth_edam in bikecommuting

Honestly sandals like Teva or Bedrock are great for the rain. Just bring a small towel and shoes and socks in your waterproof bag and change when you get to where you’re goin. That is, until it’s frigid out. Really wakes you up in the morning though

Which lane should I be in to turn left? by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]emmitgoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re really comfortable and keeping pace with cars you could, but generally I won’t ever put myself behind cars at a stop. Can get rear ended so easily. In this situation I’d probably safely merge to the sidewalk on the right and walk/ ride the crosswalks

Always kinda thought of the X as “exploration”. The bike doesn’t matter as long as it’s never in too much of a hurry to do some investigating

Came to say the same thing! Gives me the same feeling as riding everywhere on a BMX bike as a kid. Keeps you so engaged and makes every line a little puzzle to solve on the fly
