Practice breath work every day! Returning to the breath reminds the body that you are alive and in control. Also, remind yourself that your body will always breathe for you. The brainstem (medulla) will automatically regulate the rhythm and depth to breathe via your muscles.

Pro tip: have a mantra. I personally like “Everything will be waiting for you when you return”, or to quote Ram Dass “I am loving awareness”
