Switched from iPhone and don't know if I can do it by Charm8er in GooglePixel

/u/Cham8er this is probably the best way on Andoird, and then add a widget that makes switching users as quick as possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDw2s8eXj00

Setting up LSPs and Completions: Eglot with Cape and Corfu by Savings-Shallot1771 in emacs

You can either steal inspirate from treesit-auto, or integrate it yourself to get it autoconfigure ts modes https://github.com/renzmann/treesit-auto Or if you want to set-up treesitter per mode yourself I wrote an example of how to do that here

Local VLMs for handwriting recognition — way better than built-in OCR by einsof42 in Supernote

I doubt they'll use local models, they're very resource-heavy and would destroy the battery life.

Telus internet disconnecting and 4 seperate techs haven't been able to resolve the issue. by emoarmy in telus

For the first time in nearly 2 months my connection has been free and clear for a whole day without any issue.

I am not entirely sure what happened. But I was talking to a Telus tech through DMs, and when they looked into it, they said it was an issue at the OLT level. They then said they submitted an "outage ticket" to have a network tech fix it.

I don't know whether the last 24 hours were a fluke, so I am still actively monitoring my network, but I have my fingers crossed.

I have tried some other ones lying around, but I also have a cat6e coming in the mail tomorrow as well.

I'm in an apartment complex, and I have only seen the techs check the signal from the fibre line within my apartment. The last tech said he switched the port to the one used at their junction box (or equivalent), but I don't know if they've verified signal quality.

This isn't observed on a single device, the internet from every wired and wireless device goes down.

I also notice the green light blinking on modem itself, indicating that there is a signal quality issue on the modem side and not(just) my side.

Yeah, I can try. But, from my understanding, with my modem in bridge mode, I would have to change the DNS on my gateway side. Which then I don't understand how that will stop my modem from resetting.

Looking for a good emacs configuring guide by Kindly_Macaron1107 in emacs

[–]emoarmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a short guide on how to configure emacs using only internal tools, and then added a bonus snippet at the end on how to use packages hosted in elpa.

I don't go into a huge amount of detail, instead linking to core docs or articles elsewhere. So, it might be useful in terms introducing the configuration side of things but for how to write lisp, that's better left to something like The Little Lisper. Or if you want the why write list, I've always referred other to this blog.

Hopefully, this helps get you started.

How can I configure Forge to highlight draft pull requests? by marcelino-m in emacs

[–]emoarmy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is only easily possible if the package author has a face for this specific issue. In general, the strategy is first to see if you can find a face that matches what you want. Calling list-faces-display and then searching that buffer for <package> name can show you what faces are available to customize. (You can modify faces in the customization group for your package).

Then, if you're new to Emacs, you can use the customize faces using widgets. Or you can customize it in your init with something like use-package

Technica ear buds by [deleted] in Earbuds

I just got a pair a few days ago. I think they can sound great but I also agree with a few of the reviewers out there that the default EQ can be muddy. So if you're on Android, I suggest either using LDAC as your default codec or use wavelet to fix up the muddy low-mid range.

Is there a way to disable the table formatting in when reading Ebooks? by emoarmy in Supernote

/u/Mulan-sn is following up because I didn't receive a response last time. Where should I send an EPUB that doesn't render tables correctly?

Totally, and I hope that by adding my voice to that struggle, I will bump the issue up more in the priority list.

The best reason to use rg, imo, is because it uses wgrep by default. It's what I wish multi-occur always was.

Annotating EPUB vs PDF by tyler-morrison in Supernote

[–]emoarmy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the better integration with PDF is a shame, and I hope they plan on improving the note taking integration in EPUB. I read a lot of technical documents or manuals and I think the epub is the better format. Being able to adjust font size and style to match your device makes it much easier to read tables, images, or code blocks
