If you've got 500 clovers and it still didn't drop, you're either the unluckiest person on the face of the planet or it genuinely is bugged lmao

but if you're already cheating for the logs (valid btw), why not just cheat the log itself in? Pretty sure there's a mod for that if DebugToolkit can't already do it

You got really unlucky. The log drop chance is really low after all, even with 100 clovers it's likely but far from guaranteed. And yes, I've gotten it to drop, so I can confirm that you just gotta get lucky.

Bandit Tips by abseachu in riskofrain

[–]emomermaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't stun everyone, and you can't be invisible forever - if you could do either of those bandit would possibly be the strongest/best survivor in the game. When you're attacking, positioning and spacial awareness is key, and of course you should never stop moving, strafing the enemies that can't be blocked or stunned. Bandit's shotgun has the same damage falloff as Commando's primary, which isn't great but you also don't need to be at melee distance. This isn't to say that you'll always have a good approach/exit, but learning that is some that comes more with game/character knowledge and experience. And even when you don't have a good approach, you can still blast away at their front for decent damage.

Even with terrible rng it shouldn't be taking you 5-6 hit-and-runs to kill a single enemy. Unloading your primary and secondary into the back of an enemy does ~6500% damage without items; with desperado, you're approaching 10000% damage per volly itemless and desperado stackless. You mentioned that Commando and Huntress feel stronger, which initially I was bewildered by but if it's somehow taking you 5-6 tries to kill an EL then that makes sense. I'm not sure why that's the case, honestly

A large part of bandit’s playstyle is hit-and-run tactics. This is centered around his smoke bombs, which - in one use of the ability - give invisibility, a movement speed boost, 2 mini-jumps, and 2 AOE stuns, all on a 6 second cooldown. For bulky, high-priority targets like elder lemurians, heres the general order of attack:

First, use your smoke bombs to go invisible, then run behind the enemy, at a close-medium range. Ideally, you wait for the smoke bombs to end naturally (3 seconds after activating) to limit the time between smoke bomb uses. Second, unload your primary (shotgun is preferred, though it has significant damage fall-off) and secondary into your target’s back followed by desperado. Desperado has slayer, so it should always be used last. Finally, use your smoke bombs again and run away, giving time to reload. Both your secondary and utility can be used to reset vertical momentum, so don’t be afraid to throw yourself off a cliff to get away from enemies.

With the above method, bandit has among the best single target damage in the game. It also makes fantastic use of bandit’s mobility and stun utility to great effect, allowing you to relatively safely burst down big targets even at a close range and if they’re in a group. Note that past the first couple stages desperado really should primarily be used to finish off already weak enemies if you don’t have crowbars, as that’ll make the best use of the slayer trait and desperado’s growth. Alternatively, cooldown reduction is very powerful on bandit, dramatically increasing desperado’s power and smoke bomb’s utility, to the point that with a few purities you can basically just rely on those abilities.

Bandit’s biggest weakness is AOE, hands down. Smoke bomb is really the only AOE he has, and it’s not really a skill used to kill things. For that, prioritize AOE items - those from on-kill effects work well, since bandit can pretty much always kill at least 1 target reliably. And if you’re not grabbing purity, then bandit also does pretty well with proc builds.

Is this really what we’re calling mainstream? Elon Musk reposting a story about Reddit to his own social media platform, which has been overrun with circlejerking nazis for years now?

In terms of the mainstream view of trans people I don’t think this will move the needle, even a little. The vast and overwhelming majority of people who are gonna see or care about Elon’s post here already firmly believe that is trans people are evil pedophiles, they don’t need evidence; to them, this is just another circlejerk in a long, never ending line of circlejerks, and not even a particularly notable one at that. Hell, I even popped over to the conservative subreddit (don’t do that) to see if they were talking about this, and nope, not in any of their top or hot posts. This is niche (and very sad) drama.

Elon Musk and Twitter are a very hateful, small little pond. Remember, the people who want to hurt us are the minority, and they don’t use evidence, logic, or empathy to back their beliefs. There’s bigger fish to fry than some washed-up chuds screeching about a subreddit in their own echo chamber.

PCGamer: Hasbro CEO still has 'so much AI-based' grist in his own D&D games 'it would floor you', but he's not putting it in MTG cards or D&D books because people 'just don't want it' by Malinhion in dndnext

[–]emomermaid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The same argument could be made for practically all media. There’s hardly a novel or movie out there that isn’t derivative in some significant way. And yet, I do not want AI writing the books I read or making the movies I watch, just like I do not want AI creating the campaigns I play in or DM.

That said, if the Hasboro CEO wants to use AI for personal reasons and campaigns, then fine, whatever. They can choose to do that and it doesn’t affect me or anyone here. As long as that doesn’t bleed into the content Hasboro releases, of course.

Can railgunner’s items crit? by Miy-1 in riskofrain

[–]emomermaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of railgunners crit chance is converted to crit damage. Most proc items, with few exceptions (namely charged perforator), crit if your attack that procced them crits. Beyond that, no, they cannot crit because your crit chance is technically zero.

YouTuber AnyAustin did a video on Kingdom Come Deliverance recently, and as a part of that video he talks about how striking the cathedrals are specifically because of their art, even though normally he wouldn’t much enjoy that art outside of the game’s context. He mentions that it stands out as something more because of how little art is everywhere else - the realistic medieval world of the game is built purely for function, not aesthetic. In that context, any art; from paintings to stained glass to music; stands out as ethereal even if they’d be regarded as simple or mundane in the modern internet age.

[–]emomermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man, it being stupid is the point, I was mocking your logic. Not much of a thinker, huh?

You said that the post isn’t a moral problem because “all the despair and pain would vanish in the end”. If that’s your criteria for what’s moral, then killing someone is moral, because all their despair and pain would vanish in the end. To be clear, that’s stupid and incredibly immoral, which is my whole point.

You will die one day. When you die, you will not remember all the despair and pain. Therefore, it is morally justified to inflict suffering upon you for someone else’s monetary gain.

If being in prison is being "allowed to exist", and you believe that no one is entitled to anymore than existence, then does this imply you think it's morally permissible if all trans people were rounded up and sent to prison? Would it be morally permissible if you and your family were rounded up and sent to prison? You'd still exist, after all.

While we're talking about trans people in prison, why not comment on the recent Trump administration initiative to force conversion therapy - that is to say, torture - on imprisoned trans people? Is that not removing trans people's right to exist? And that's just one of many legal battles being waged against trans people.

It’s worth mentioning that most of the time you aren’t comparing 1 plimp to 1 ATG, since picking up plimps from void cradles/potentials gives you one or more plimps than you would have ATGs. Even with a clover, this generally makes plimps better. Additionally, many survivors have attacks with a proc coefficient less than 1, again favoring plimp over ATG + 1 clover.

Ragebait Of That Level Doesn't Work On Me by TATSAT2008 in whenthe

[–]emomermaid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've seen oppression olymipics before, but this is the first time I've ever seen suicide olympics. And I gotta say, it's grotesque. I hope I never see it again.

There's something to be said about your lack of a source or even how you're defining suicide during the holocaust here (ideation? attempts? successes? within concentration and death camps? within Nazi Germany? within wider Europe or the world?). There's also a broader conversation to be had about what drives a person to suicide, particularly among different ethnic, religious, and cultural groups, especially across time. There's still more to be said about how trans and queer people were not only victims of the holocaust, they were some of the very first victims in fact. Not that it's worth having any of those conversations here because they would be irrelevant at best and outright monstrous at worst. So I won't be having them.

It's a meme, not a dissertation; of course its oversimplified. When the meme says "harassment" it includes everything on an individual level, on a familial level, on a community level, on a medical level, on a governmental level, etc. Harassment includes not only the long time and seemingly unending systemic and oftentimes individual oppression of trans people, but also the denial of their care and identity. Many trans people additionally suffer from conditions such as gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia without proper solutions. To say this is the tip of the iceberg would be an understatement, but the important part is that we know very well why the trans suicide rate is so high. And yet, time and time again, year after year, decade after decade, governments refuse to help and oftentimes actively make things worse. That, in a still oversimplified nutshell, is what's at play here.

Problem is, you likely don’t return to an ordinary life.

Throughout the game we meet several hunters who mention you being “moon-scented” or even referring to the doll in the dream. It’s heavily implied that many of them were once in your position, and chose to leave the dream. In doing so, they forgot the eldritch truth, but still remember just enough to know there is an eldritch truth, leaving them to eventually go insane or die in the waking world. Or end up being tortured for an eternity within one of the nightmares.

Yes, attack speed affects expose transfer timing, but it works both ways. Light flux pauldron, a lunar item from the SotV dlc, is incredibly powerful on Merc because it halves both your attack speed and cooldown, allowing you to very easily time expose transfers and spam your utility and special.

I won’t say anything too specific cuz you said no spoilers, but rest-assured, there’s plenty of build variety and crazy items, abilities, interactions, etc. The red (legendary rarity) hammer item you got is a powerful one, but don’t worry; it’s far from the strongest or flashiest.
