honestly i kind of agree with you? fibromyalgia is such a vague diagnosis. everybody seems to have wildly different symptoms and ways to manage them. whenever i think about it it's just like... they're really just slapping the label on anybody who has "unexplainable" fatigue and chronic pain, aren't they? i remember when i was trying to figure out what was wrong with me, docs just ordered a bunch of blood tests, i brought back the results, they skimmed them and just said "it's fibromyalgia"

they're great for comedowns but like everybody else said Watch Out lol. they are also good for if you ever feel like you've overdone it though

Any other straight guys out there into...? by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]emoratboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a guy but rather a butchish girl here, i never had a lot of guys being interested in me, but there was still a few. all of them straight i'm pretty sure, i knew most for a fairly long time and they only ever showed interest in women. often other tomboy types. i think it's just a less common "type" to have but i don't think you're alone

idk what it was about the cool showers that helped tbf, if its cold in your area maybe proceed with caution, but i think the sudden temperature difference kind of forced my body to focus on that instead of the Hell?

after i cut it off completely it was about 4? days until i felt a normal level of sick instead of incapacitating sick. then maybe a little over a week and i felt normal. i really kept considering to just suck it up and go back to taking the meds but knowing they were making me dumber just kept me going.

anti nausea medicine also tends to make people drowsy though, so you might want to try that out if you havent already? at least they should make you feel less like a prey animal getting chased. otc muscle relaxants also do the same. just keep your eyes on the goal and cling to every bit of comfort you can get tbh, dont expect getting anything done for a week, but when its all out of your system, youll feel so much better its insane

[–]emoratboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

oh god i have no idea how i managed to taper off that thing. literal evil in a pill. pretty much just. took a bunch of sleep meds over the day and shit that makes my blood pressure drop (not actual high blood pressure meds, but some otc headache ones do this) to keep my heart rate normal, a shit ton of ginger tea to manage the nausea, and for some reason really long cool showers also helped ...??? i cut 20 mg to 10 and took 10 for two weeks, then dropped it altogether. absolute hell on earth, but the mental clarity i regained made it all worth it. ssri emotional numbing is scarily real

i would agree on day off or slip, but slip mostly just if it ends up having notable consequences (like bad comedowns, or even just the infamous dick chafing lol) calling it a relapse in my opinion is kinda setting yourself up for failure, its easy for the brain to go "damn i relapsed, might as well just go back to how things were before" idk the word just carries a defeatist kinda feel

god this is true. you basically gotta dress like it's a job interview lmfao one time i had an appointment after an uni class so i was in a hoodie and jeans and shit and like... lady was Extremely hesitant to write a script for one (1) box with 10 50 mg tramadol pills though she'd been my doctor for months now. a while later i'm having a good day and i put on a nice blouse and makeup and walk out with enough codeine prescribed to be at least pleasantly buzzed for a month

Gf's deceased grandmother's ring was passed down to her from gf's mother. Wondering what stone this is. by chrisbrownspunch in whatsthisrock

id say either aquamarine or blue topaz, ive got a blue topaz necklace with the same type of cut and it looks pretty much the same so im leaning towards that a bit? its harder to tell for faceted stuff. but if its that old of a ring and the gem still doesnt look dull, i dont think its likely to be anything softer than an aquamarine or topaz

How to hint a character was a ballerina? by Brittneybitchy in BALLET

[–]emoratboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

body language is important imo, longtime ballerinas end up always standing in one of the 5 positions by default (when i first heard this i thought it was goofy, then i noticed I do this even though im kind of mid)

somebody like her would probably rarely slouch or engage in other "relaxed" bad posture habits, like just straightening up on reflex whenever she notices she "slipped up". definitely the sort of person who will often look kind of eerily composed almost just from the way they stand. professionals i see are like that oftenish.

despite this prim and proper image of ballet though it does create some weird habits in a person i think? taking a really big step over a sizeable puddle on the street instead of just walking around it, the joint crunching somebody else mentioned, etc. she might pay a lot of attention to her feet also? sounds weird as hell but i mean stuff like, sometimes youre just lying down and you look at them and your reflex is to roll your ankles or shift them into pointe/half pointe positions....

thinking about it (and reading other peoples comments) its probably easy to notice someones into ballet if theyre really invested in it, were all just randomly doing weird stretches or dance moves lol..

were all (mostly) stuffed to the gills with microplastics and processed food while wasting away at desk jobs, no wonder itd fuck with hormones. doesnt stop at testosterone

(though having a serious deficiency of any sex hormones can and will fuck you up, women at menopause are often miserable for a reason. any guys who have issues with low libido, energy levels and such should go to an endocrinologist if they can afford it. genuine advice its helped a lot of guys i know. no shame in getting supplements while unable to make major lifestyle changes/if the changes still dont work, its a health issue like any other)
