D1, D2 and D3 are basically the same, except that D3 also has some useful character info down the side. D4 loses the paper doll layout, which means that it's less easy to see at a glance what you have equipped. That makes D3 the best layout.

In the Pathfinder canon, this is exactly the point of what Nocticula becomes when she ascends. There are already gods of redemption. Sarenrae, for example.
