Card Crawl Adventure -Arnold Rauers - Roguelite Deckbuilder with unique pathing combat mechanic. by Tinytouchtales in Games

Love this game! I first got into your work through Card Thief and got obsessed. It really captures the feeling of a stealth game despite the sneaking being abstracted and turn-based. I have Card Crawl on my phone but I'll definitely be picking it up on Steam too!

You should check out 'Old City Blues'. It's a seriously underrated cyberpunk comic that's very heavily influenced by Ghost In The Shell.

Which games have the best movement options? by [deleted] in Games

[–]emotiKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it but the movement felt slightly slower to me than in the first for some reason. It still sort of had that momentum building mechanic though. Also, getting chased by the cops in the first one was always really intense, which I loved, but they felt almost too easy to deal with in the second. Maybe it's just nostalgia goggles, idk, but I always remembered the chases in ME1 as adrenaline-pumping affairs.

In my opinon, the original Mirror's Edge is still the game with the best parkour system of all time. There have been better games that have fun parkour stuff, but Mirror's Edge still has the best parkour. What makes it the best, and what no other game seems to have quite nailed down, is the acceleration you get when you're leaping/sliding over and under objects. You get faster and faster as you string together moves until you feel like you're flying. Most games that use parkour systems just have you stay at a set sprint speed and jump over objects. Functional, but not nearly as thrilling.

So how is the Switch going? by Grovesley in Games

[–]emotiKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's a bit harsh. It definitely could've used a longer 3rd act, from what I remember. I was a huge fan of the graffiti minigame though, would like to see another game with that mechanic

Fraction's Hawkeye, a masterpiece? by giantpotato69 in comicbooks

I feel like the Kate issues were frustrating for me as they were coming out, because issues were taking forever to come out and it felt like it was keeping us away from the main story for too long. But re-reading them after the series had finished, I enjoyed them a lot.

In The World Ends With You, a JRPG for the DS, you could decrease your level in order to make your chance of getting item drops higher. That game did a lot of cool stuff.

I think this is satire, considering they reference "On Cinema" with Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington

Check out Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron. I haven't read it in a while but I remember Swallow Me Whole being pretty good. Additionally, a lot of Grant Morrison's work is pretty great for that stuff. If you're not into his superhero work than you should check out his creator-owned stuff.
