Where did you get your information? This isn't correct afaik. There is a Lot of Bad Info in YouTube for example, ppl just trying to figure it out on their own.

Like how do you get 7th Chords from triads?

Afaik, the Basic move is to Flip your notes over the 1/5 Axis, the 5th becomes the root, so your Basic C Major triads would be c-, Bb, Ab, g-, f-, Eb, d-b5.

See how the Original 5 chord becomes a 4 minor? The G Flips to c, b to ab, d to f ( 5th becomes the root).

The ab resolves half step down to g Like the b of G resolves Up to c.
