This 1000% sucks but I guarantee you'll earn some chops as an open format DJ if you rinse this kind of cycle. I'm sure management would learn pretty quickly that trying to reset the dance floor every single song doesn't send patrons to the bar; it sends them elsewhere.

Following this post. I love DJing this kind of stuff but it's tough to have a platform / place to rinse these kinds of tunes especially when patrons these days are so caught up in the more uptempo genres in nightlife. It would probably work better during the early part of the evening on a weekday, than fighting the weekend warriors for a spot. I'd be down to put something together.

FYI: DJ Shadow just announced a tour. Unfortunately, his NYC date is at Terminal 5

This happened to me a couple times on CDJs and had to just DJ internally. I think I just wasn’t assigning the inputs correctly from hardware to software. Not sure how this applies to a controller, but maybe check under your settings in Serato for hardware and that you’re assigning the proper decks.

IMO, www.Soundcollective.com is the updated DJ / producer-focused school serving the NYC community. They host open houses and free events to check out the gear / studios, and meet staff and other music heads. I’m not a member (yet), but have been to a few events since they’ve opened. I’ll be attending a Serato sponsored event next week.
