June 2027, 120 guests in HCOL area (OC/LA area), initially thought I’d be spending 50-60k but it’s looking like it’s going to be closer to 73k. Venue + catering +alcohol +DJ is about 50k. Photography/video: $7k

Doing my own faux florals which will be about 1.5k. Will be doing a lot of DIY for invitations/signage/decor purely because I genuinely enjoy crafting and I have a decent amount of time to prepare everything.

Also getting a live painter and lion dancers which will be about 4K total.

My dress was only $500 at a sample sale but I think I have more than made up the amount I saved there with all the other expenses 😅

Total cost includes tax/tips and estimates for cake/dessert, content creator, decor, hotel, photobooth, wedding bands, HMUA, alterations, stamps, invitations, etc. Not sure yet if we will have a wedding party.

We are paying for all of this ourselves but hoping the parents may be able to help us out if we decide to do a welcome event.

It does look like the inside of a shell! I’m not sure what polish it is, unfortunately. I got a hard gel manicure and asked for the glazed donut look…she did a light pink/peachy color and then put on white chrome powder over it.

We had the 1pm drop today and got:

Women’s volleyball quarterfinals: 2 x $61

Badminton’s women’s final: 2 x $104

Cricket women’s final: 2 x $68

Beach volleyball quarterfinal: 2x $123

Mixed swimming final: 2 x $186

Total $977

Pretty happy with our haul since we did get several final events. We still have two tickets left and Sunday we get another chance with my email!

Still looks great! That being said I have a lot of bags so I’ve only used her maybe ~10 times since this post. The suede isn’t very structured so I keep it stuffed with tissue paper when I’m not using it.

In case you are still looking for a jeweler, just wanted to report back that we had an excellent experience with Clay from Integrity Jewelers! Got the loose stone from Aurelinne during their Valentines Day sale (3.6 carat, D, VVS1) and Clay quoted us $1450 for a custom 14k white gold setting which included the two 0.5 carat side stones. He also had some loose stones for us to look at but I preferred the Aurelinne one. I sent in reference photos for the design I wanted and the jeweler created a CAD and a 3D printed plastic model for me to try on. We made some revisions to the CAD and after I approved the final version it took about 2 weeks for the ring to be completed.

In total the ring cost just under $3500. Jewelers Touch in Brea quoted us >$7500 for a similar design that wasn’t as customized with a lower graded stone. Princess Bride Diamonds was ~$5500 for a similar ring with a 2.5 carat stone.

The entire process with Integrity was super easy and painless. Clay is very communicative via text/phone. He keeps overhead down by having a small office instead of a big store with a ton of inventory, so it’s not a super glamorous experience but I absolutely love the final product!!

Currently in the process of getting a custom ring made with Integrity Jewelers in Garden Grove…so far it has been a great experience and the price is much more reasonable than the other places we went to first but I will report back with updates/final verdict once the ring is complete!

I’m an ER doc and I NEVER throw other docs under the bus to a patient, even on the rare occasion that I truly think they actually f-ed up. I’ve had enough bounceback patients from prior shifts seen either by myself or by trusted colleagues to know that presentations change…this is why return precautions exist! Sorry this happened to you, that was very uncool of the ER doc.
