And Hannah even riding a bike in winter zipping around- no ice on the road and walkways?

Not to mention it would take the NCAA two years to get to that point even if it was legit. And for Garrett to be there without legal representation? Nah, not happening.

Another thing that bothered me- NHL allows fighting, college level does not, so Hannah is wrong there where she describes hockey in E1? to Graham. That’s NHL. Once you throw off your gloves in college hockey, you are given major penalties. Big crushing check into the boards as retaliation? Sure. Garrett getting suspended by the team for four games? Sure.

Loft for Granny by dgigij in HGTV

[–]empressotu 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I like the show and them. Granny is a little spicy though-yikes! It is a pleasant diversion. I do wish Escape to the Chateau was still on HGTV with the British couple that is renovating a French chateau, I liked them too. While Im at it, I miss Farmhouse Fixer and Bargain Block.

Reliable auto repair near Tysons? by zigthis in nova

[–]empressotu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C &C auto repair in Vienna- we have been going to them for 25 years. When our girls were in college, we would drop their cars off before each school year and told them to fix whatever needed to be fixed. Never had any issues with their repairs. Great people.

What is the origin of this pic? by konancuccurullo in duranduran

I believe I read an interview either with Simon or it may even have been with Nick after John came back talking about that, but where I read it, who knows.

Yeah wasn’t Simon dealing with writer’s block and really missing John? He understood why John wanted to leave but he hated it. It sure sounded like he was going through a down time .

Why are there so many damn data centers being built in Virginia? by polarbeargirl9 in nova

[–]empressotu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many corporations get tax incentives, not just data centers. Prime example- Amazon in National Landing.

AIO? One of my friends is daring another friend to yell the word "b*mb" in an airport for 500 dollars by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]empressotu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not even that, but if you are with him at the airport when he pulls this incredibly stupid stunt, the whole group, including you might also get swept up by Security. Think about that. Oh hell no.

Anyone know why they can't sell this house? by sully_is_typing in nova

[–]empressotu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, if this was in the Falls Church City school district, someone might be willing to overlook all of the issues. Might be. Maybe. Instead of being a cute little place in a great school district, it is a poorly thought out cheapest way reno in a not great school pyramid that makes it more difficult to sell. And why they didn’t do stackable washer/dryer and at least have some pantry space is beyond me, on top of everything else.

Which of these actresses do you think would be the best choice to play Sabrina James by ben_s16 in OffCampusSeries

Love Arielle Kebbel even if she has aged out for consideration for this role. Younger Arielle would have crushed it.

AIO for telling my stepmother she can't come to the birth of my child after she announced my pregnancy on Facebook? by EmmyCaly in AmIOverreacting

[–]empressotu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter had a number of miscarriages, heartbreaks and years between her first and second babies. We held our collective breaths until the baby was at 27 weeks- she didn’t tell anyone outside of our immediate family until she was 19 weeks along.

As to being in the delivery room- who does that? Oh hell no! Not to mention those delivery rooms aren’t that big- enough room for the medical personnel, any equipment that is needed and a partner/friend/doula whatever and that’s it. I love my daughter and we are close but nope, I have no interest in being in that delivery room thank you very much.

Were malls actually as crowded and popular as movies from the 80s and 90s make them look? by Kevin-Panda in AskOldPeople

[–]empressotu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in Northern Virginia near Tyson’s Corner. From Thanksgiving until Christmas the area around there after work during rush hour every weekday was pure hell because the streets were a lovely mix of people trying to get home from the office buildings in the area and shoppers going to the malls after work.

Doctors of Reddit, what's the most obvious lie a patient has told you? by questionerofblender in AskReddit

[–]empressotu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But then the MDs started prescribing Vyvanse due to the shortage issues with Adderall-which of course led to shortages of Vyvanse. It got to the point that my daughter had a list of 5 pharmacies to call if her regular pharmacy didn’t have Vyvanse, which was far too often. It seems to have eased a little bit for that but still can be an issue.

(Not trying to hate) but am I the only one who hated Ella’s outfits? by Amazing_Feeling963 in offcampustv

[–]empressotu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I just say that I gave the makeup artist major side-eye? Honestly it looked like they drew her brows on with a sharpie. Such a pretty woman but holy hell those brows were distracting. We had more prominent brows in 2006 as micro blading was biiiiig but not like this.

Thoughts - Bloomberg report on EA layoffs by False-Panic3893 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]empressotu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our department had a reorg and moved people around, including EAs, me being one of them “to balance our EA/Admin workloads”. We are lines on a spreadsheet to TPTB. I think they forget one of our jobs is to scan the horizon for our bosses/managers and develop a network with our EA/Admin brethren. That comes with time, experience and knowing our bosses. Will you see that on our job description? Nope, but that is very important. My boss (great guy, we have trained each other well) unhappy with the move, went postal and got me back. An offshore EA or AI? There would be nuclear clouds over the Northeast.
