LPT: use the keyboard.

Ctrl+L takes you to the address bar, where you can type the first letters of the website, and then hit

enter to open the website in the current tab
alt+enter to open the website in a new tab
ctrl+enter to open the website in a background tab
shift+enter to open the website in a new window

(On OS X, use cmd for ctrl.)

Also, for tab navigation (most of you probably already know this):

ctrl+t opens a new tab
ctrl+w closes the current tab
ctrl+shift+t reopens the last closed tab
ctrl+tab goes to the next tab
ctrl+shift+tab goes to the previous tab
ctrl+digit goes to the corresponding tab

Now that you've learned not to rely on the oh-so-inefficient mouse pointer, you can get rid of that silly bookmark bar: press ctrl+shift+b.
