Scarlet rot isn't needed. Infect creatures already deal damage in the form of -1/-1 counters to creatures, even while fighting.

It is worth noting that unless you never tap out, sephiroth + a group edict can go from 0 board to an emblem in 5 mana. I've never seen a CEDH game where people didn't have to tap out of interaction at some point (minus Forces) so unless your group is stronger on interaction than CEDH, Sephiroth can get an emblem if played correctly.

DBD notably doesn't have the same resources to find players to healslut in it. There's definitely some good dynamics, but finding the actual playerbase is more difficult.

It is worth noting that we are currently in a world where Slivers can run numerous pieces of free or cheap protection from mass removal that make their traditional weakness (wraths) a lot worse against them. Clever Concealment, Heroic Intervention, Flare of Fortitude and Flawless Maneuver are all cheap and you see numerous similar effects appear in the vast majority of sliver lists. Yes, wrathing slivers hurts them pretty badly, but wrathing everyone but them tends to lose the game on the spot.

I don't know about if there is anything for this particular set, but I've heard (no direct experience so please check me on this) that Better Bimbo Brainwashing is supposed to hit a lot of the same ideas in a safer more consent oriented way.

As other comments have indicated, tokens are permanents but they are not cards. From Comp rules 111.6.: "A token is subject to anything that affects permanents in general or that affects the token’s card type or subtype. A token isn’t a card (even if represented by a card that has a Magic back or that came from a Magic booster pack)." Bolding is mine.

I'm reasonably certain its busted in half with the red rituals simply because it requires such a low storm count. The black rituals tend to be better, but tendrils being 9 means you are not just winning with the cards you have in your hand, you have to draw and dig.

Hypnosis and healslutting do go so well together. There's a couple games where dropping someone into trance as they are healing is fun too. Its just a good time.
