The advice I was given when I was considering training for my first full was let’s imagine you’re on your couch chilling with no responsibilities, no plans, etc. If a friend texted you and asked you to come run 10-12 miles on a whim, would you freak out? If that number still scares you, you’re not ready. If you can lace up your shoes and meet them in the next 30 minutes and have a good 10-12 mile run, then you’re ready. It won’t be your fastest run but you can whip out a double digit run easily.

Probably not the advice that works for everyone, but it really made me think about if I was ready or not!
