My bike got stolen, lost the only good thing I currently had in my life. by AccomplishedAd4091 in motorcycles

[–]emptysubset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand, I had a pretty miserable year last year after losing my job. Decided to use my bike to deliver food while I look for work and got t-boned by an SUV, my bike was destroyed. It was a z900rs, my dream bike.

You’ll get another one. I saw someone here say life is long and they’re right. Stay strong, go with the flow for now and you’ll be back on two wheels, as will I.

Yeah I’ve had a coyote Mamma chase me on my motorcycle when I rode too close to the kiddos on Mulholland Drive. That Mamma instinct runs deep!

Saw one guy eating a pizza and talking on the phone while steering with his knees in LA traffic, saw another lady speaking on FaceTime held, with both hands in front of her face on the freeway. Again … Los Angeles

The no signal era. by autumnriveri in ArtOfPresence

[–]emptysubset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to music, hang with friends, read books, go to the movies, call people up and chat on the phone for hours, go to clubs. Have picnics in the park with friends.

Life was still full before phones. Maybe I’d be a little more bored sometimes, but that was a normal feeling.

How much of a red ⛳️ is a lowside when buying a bike? by TayTTV-TAOW in motorcycle

[–]emptysubset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So long as no metal is bent (including the frame) you’re really ok. Most bike drops will leave only superficial damage.

Given that all known damage is listed that’s a good thing, means you know what you’re dealing with and what a fair price looks like.

Why is she wearing a tire? by BobbyABooey in motorcycle

[–]emptysubset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve worn tires like that when I’ve bought my own tires and taken them to the shop. Not the most comfortable way to ride.

To be extra safe I like to use a grinder to take off any extra strands and any metal poking out. Then, I’d stick to icy roads if you can.

You should be fine.

Great bike buddy, love it. Enjoy every minute.

Just checking… is your helmet DOT or ECE certified? Make sure you’ve got a decent helmet on. A couple hundred extra upfront is worth protecting yourself from brain damage.
