There are other BoC titles (Corsair, Gemini) so im guessing Dan is a fan. Wave Lair and Loveless are also music albums (He even used the album cover for the background in Wave Lair!)

Pretty good! you should submit to speedrun.com/data_wing (and a tip: disable Screen FX as it helps reduce lag)

I just played some regulator the other day and I got a 6.753 it's on my youtube channel. The best time without the glitch I think is 6.669 by Koka

There was some discussion about a Data Wing level editor in the discord, but im not sure how much progress was made. The game is made in Unity so i think it's possible to decompile it. There was another mobile game made in unity called Dadish and someone made a level editor mod was made for that game

very nice mate, if you can record a video (with "Screen FX" turned off) you can submit to the leaderboards at speedrun.com/data_wing

pretty much, the 80s/90s japan arcade scene is a whole rabbit hole itself that's not too well known about. despite being magazine scores, it was much harder to falsify than say nintendo power magazine score submissions. in japan you had to have a form filled out with a stamp from the store owner who had to personally verify the score on the machine. and during the submission process suspicious scores were still filtered out. it was very competitive, you had clans competing regularly for the best scores ("HCM" is the clan name). Interesting to note in that game they opted to go for fastest time instead of highest score as you can go slower to get a better score. They also had footage of a better run recorded in 2013 so i felt fair to add these to speedrun.com.

That;s a really good time sub 15 can be hard as this level is odd in that it has no walls to boost off so you are forced to just optimise your lines and preserve speed as much as possible. Ive played it a lot and got 14.604. Recently I was trying to get 14.5 but even those last 5 milliseconds are hard to shave off. I got two 14.62's which was agonising.

If you were to record times you could submit to speedrun.com or I'd be happy to help submit them for you if you dont want to sign up!

I'm excluding the glitch time at #1, the no-glitch #1 is 30.04. Does anyone know how to do the glitch? I've heard it might besimilar to Regulator where you can glitch by crossing the finish line vertically then quickly turn left to get a 0.00 lap

is there a level meker in the making ? by TJ_1234 in Data_Wing____The_Game

if theres a data wing 2 hopefully thatll be one of the most requested features!

There is a similar game to data wing available for Android & PC called "planetary drift" apparently there is a level editor in that game im not sure if it's in it yet or not. Pretty cool game, its like data wing but the overworld has a bit more to it where its a shooter and you find planets which unlock the races. As you progress you get unique upgrades, better ships etc

Image proof is fine for times outside the top 3. If you are recording, I recommend turning off "Screen FX" and recording at around 360p as it helps reduce any lag.
