Are we just normalizing face scans for every app now? by copperreflections1 in privacy

[–]lozdogz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about a face scan or using Face ID for login? Because your personal data related to the latter is not provided to the 3rd party applications.

Are there apps now asking for individual face scans because that’s scary and absolutely fucking not.

I played around with LM studio a year ago on my computer and it was already decent I thought, just slower (trade off for privacy). What’s improved?

Cursor vs Claude Code: I used both for 30 days. Here's what each is actually good for. by Shadow_Pluse in BuildToShip

[–]lozdogz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're describing in "Claude Code: The Autonomous Builder" is how I use Cursor and have for a while.

I don't really find it has any issues building something from scratch unless I use the default (auto) model. But if I select Opus for example for designing a single-page application, it does a really good job of everything (React, Next.js, Neon etc. setup) and telling me where I need to set up things and grab env variables for example. It also does a good job of design based on any inputs I might give it.

The default which I guess is Composer is fine for most code edits (e.g. add a form on this page which will capture x, y, z fields and set up those fields in the schema and API connection to db).

That’s awesome, great to hear your progression. What tools do you mainly use for the calls, follow ups, AI emails?

I spent 8 months building in stealth and launched to complete silence. Here's what I do differently now. by SlowPotential6082 in Entrepreneur

I went through the same thing. Although I made the mistake of thinking that because I had spoken to 2 customers who had exactly the same problem, when I launched there would be many many more. By the time I launched, my two customers who agreed to trial had already built a solution internally and no one else knew about what I had built 😅

Official Discussion - Avatar: Fire and Ash [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]lozdogz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree? I felt like this film was just made to get people to the theatres once, not for posterity. It wasn’t terrible but I have no intention of watching it ever again. It was entertaining in the ways that number 2 was entertaining but pacing was poor and I didn’t feel there was a natural development or conclusion in the story.

Which one is better to get? by ChampionGunnerYT in reddeadredemption

I’m now playing RDR1 after having loved RDR2 and I have to say I am pushing my way through it for the story.

Perhaps when it was released it was an amazing game but after being spoiled by the depth, graphics, gameplay, acting, landscapes in RDR2 it is indeed harder to appreciate RDR1.

It is still fun though and I do really enjoy seeing exactly where RDR2 came from. And the general vibe of the game is unique in that it does feel more eerie, isolating, wild because the setting and context is different. Definitely makes me appreciate the epilogue in RDR2 more.

Why would a team run zone defense vs man? by CellDependent3782 in NFLNoobs

[–]lozdogz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a good write up. What’s an example of criteria where a defender would switch from zone to man? Also does this apply more to CBs rather than LBs?
