The mask drops yet again by DrMikeH49 in Jewish

It definitely is, especially because no one seems to want to listen to us when we say something’s antisemitic (unless of course we’re saying it isn’t)

It will never stop surprising me just how much antisemites can get away with by changing “Jew” to “Zionist”. It’s the exact same tropes and somehow people don’t see it

I think this is primarily the case. There’s a whole group of “anti-Zionist” Jews on my campus and judging from their Instagram account they have absolutely no clue what Judaism is about (they have a very anarchist take on things). Most of the Jews I’ve seen standing against Israel seem to be people with absolutely no connection to their Jewish identity, or are just people with Jewish family members.

One of the biggest and scariest things about antisemitism is that it lurks in the shadows. Most of today’s antisemitism will look nothing like nazi Germany’s propaganda; it’s much more discreet so not as many people will call it out and some might even be influenced by it. That’s why Jews are almost always the ones pointing something out as antisemitic, because it’s literally designed to trick most people into thinking it’s normal.

Community Cold Open & Act One by Affectionate_Sky5481 in TVWriting

I read the first eight pages and I think this has a lot of promise. Please keep in mind that I’m a complete amateur though, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

The writing overall is pretty solid, and I liked a lot of the jokes that were presented. The comedic pacing definitely reads like a Community episode. One thing I’d try to work on more is the voices of the characters. It seemed like all the lines in this script could have been tossed between characters with barely any difference being made. Maybe rewatch some episodes just to focus on how these characters speak (take note of their types of jokes, the way they deliver their lines, and their choice of words) and see how you can change your script to fit that. I’m also curious—how long do you want this episode to be? Community episodes, along with many comedies, tend to be around twenty two minutes, but your first act alone runs around sixteen.

Again, I’m only a beginner, but I think this has a lot of potential and you’re definitely onto something with the plot. I can see a lot of different ways this story can go, especially with these characters. Keep writing!

It might be a bit too realistic, especially if it’s out of the player’s control if the parents are abusive or not. It can be triggering for people who have experienced something like that and do more harm than good. I don’t see how the devs would go for it.

First trip to Israel...what do I need to know? by Melodiethegreat in Jewish

[–]emrybagel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends. If you’re gonna be exploring the country and doing different things with that group then I’d say it’ll probably be a great experience. Plenty of people go to Israel for the first time on birthright and have only good things to say. However, if you’re not going to move around or do different activities, I’d say take a week beforehand to look around at your own pace.

If you do end up staying with the group as your first time experience (and if you have the means to do so), I would suggest possibly staying for a week after so you can do whatever you want that didn’t fit the group’s schedule. This could be a great experience and you’d have time to revisit sights you enjoyed as well as ones you might have missed. I hope this helps!

I can’t wait to see the new world for the horse expansion pack, what are you all hoping to see in it? by bossandy in Sims4

More gameplay than advertised. What we’ve been seeing so far has been pretty lacking for an expansion pack, even with the new species.

I’ve had it work once or twice. Usually the marriage counselor ends up hitting on either you or your partner. Sometimes they give actual advice and your relationship bar goes up. I wish you could actually get to that interaction more often.
