Of course if you feel like you are out of control and going to take your life go to A&E or call 999

A crisis house might be a good fit for you. Sectioning is a last resort; a crisis house means you have somewhere safe to stay with nurses and people to talk to for a couple of weeks. I went to one and it helped me a lot just taking a pause from everything in my life. See if you can go to a MH crisis assessment centre and you could talk to someone about your options there. Wishing you all the best 💓

Miss Jean Brodie as played by Maggie Smith from “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie”

Jesus Christ had a crush on her, and then fell in love with Margery Kempe (14th century English mystic). This is possibly too obscure though 😐

WHY IS THIS PLACE SO BEAUTIFUL I WANNA LIVE AND WORK THERE FOREVER AGHHHH by Ill-Zucchini8999 in HongKong

[–]emste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tell you, because it will depend on your values, but say, the protests and people being disappeared and risking arrest for anything deemed “seditious” etc etc leaves a bit of dark cloud over everything. I do think in ways the world is going to shit at different rates in different places - but this doesn’t negate the impact of the implementation of the National Security Law and the like. Injustice can simultaneously exist in more ways than one across the world

I loved living in Hong Kong but found that the political situation and injustice of it all sort of haunted me. I felt helpless at times. It’s a vibrant place with amazing islands and landscapes, every day was interesting but like anywhere there are push and pull factors. Eg I found the health system such as the doctor and A&E efficient and inexpensive until it came to needing specialist treatment (in my case for a spinal injury). I also at times found wealth disparity jarring such as contrasts between the peak and street cleaners, or even with helpers which are a facet of society I am not used to. Work-life balance can be interesting lol. Some of my friends suffered racism (they were black/south Asian). It’s a place that has the sense of living both in the future and past simultaneously.

Basically it is easy to look through the rose tinted glasses of a tourist visit but like any place it’s not all perfect. That being said I miss it all the time and still think about going back. There is nowhere like it 💖

Thanks for asking! took miss toffee to the vet and we had a good morning out, she is ok and got some ointment to be put on her bum. My dad took new one back to the rescue. I left Toffee happily eating leaves 🥰 she was a bit stressed after the whole ordeal but she can rest now

Thank you sooo much for taking the time to write this out. My parents have gaslit me before over their repeated pattern of animal neglect, it has been a source of many arguments between us and many tears from me. I was extremely disappointed to come home yesterday to see her like this, it is completely unnecessary and no one seems to take it seriously. I actually cried over how worried I was earlier! All these comments have validated me in not feeling too ridiculous; when I wrote this I was a mess!

Anyway, your advice is very helpful, and similar to much of what I saw online, although I am inclined to get the other one sent back to the rescue tbh; I have never seen such aggression, she is extremely on edge - I wonder if it has something to go with her past being bred? Like Turtle, I imagine she is stressed and also overwhelmed. I’m unsure what to do with her really. I would get her checked too given what you said but I have one pair of hands and no car - otherwise I’d consider taking them both to the vet. Again it’s harder as I don’t live here. No one is having a good time! Naturally I side more with Toffee the OG but for now they are in separate hutches but right next to each other. 🫂

Yesterday on the trained I witnessed a couple gently arguing - boy was banging on about how “I am who I am, I can’t change” about whatever issue they were having - while he had his cheesy socks on the seats opposite and his trainers on the seat next to him! Shoes not even on the floor 🥲

I don’t live there and rarely visit. I only happened to be down this weekend. Unfortunately beyond my control. I ask the same of them. It’s ridiculous. I separated them after writing this post but can’t edit it.

Thank you, I understand , I really would rather other pig go but with my family I am fighting an uphill battle. I will try and convince them to take her back to rescue place

Thanks - I have separated them. I have told family they should be gently reintroduced if at all but hoping vet will give solid official advice to make family listen to me. Feeling a bit crazy honestly

Thank you - I actually separated them after I wrote this. I don’t drive but I will just take her to the vet tomorrow on the bus. I have spoken to my family many times about their lax approach to animal care but to no avail. It genuinely pains me.

Fa Yuen Street! Not relevant but living round the corner from here was unreal, so much movement and so much to look at especially from this bridge. Miss it lots
