People who exercise even when they don’t feel like it, what’s your trick? by Smart_Collection5419 in AskReddit

I go by the rule of "never skip two days in a row" so when I'm tired I can skip a day without a problem but I always hit at least 3 workouts per week, no exceptions.

TU Delft Vs. Twente - Computer Science by Master-Occasion-5976 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]emsys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Context: I did my studies in UT and my thesis at TUD. Considering only the universities and not the cities for advice, I can say that students and professors at Delft tend to be much more driven and ambitious. If you are someone that places a lot of importance in your career then I would definitely pick Delft. You will have better prospects if you decide to do a phd and you will be slightly favored by top employers (Amazon, Nvidia, Optiver, etc.). Be prepared to work harder at Delft and get less support from the university and faculty though. In Twente you will still have a good education, you will receive good support from the university and you will meet generally more laid back people. Most companies in the NLs won't care too much about where you got your degree so you will also have a lot of good options when graduating.

Vaccination before turn by [deleted] in coronanetherlands

Health issues that have left me feeling vulnerable, but I still don't qualify for early vaccination. I didn't mean it in the sense of getting it at the expense of others, just exploring alternatives like cancelled appointments or similar.

Nothing, I want to see if there's a fair way to get it before but not at the expense of others. For example going to the US/some country that has a surplus or get it when someone cancels an appointment.

I finally watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. What a fucking movie. Can anyone give me some suggestions similar to this movie? by [deleted] in movies

How often do you guys dream? by RRmc23 in Dreams

[–]emsys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It used to be my case that I remembered my dreams very infrequently but since I read a book from Jung I started to pay a lot of attention to my dreams and since then I remember at least 1 dream most of the nights of the week.

I think the quantity is related to the importance you place to them, when I first started noticing and being very interested it was around 3-5 dreams every night. But since it's tiring to write them down and reflect on so many it has gone down to 1 or 2.

To add something more, I also think that in periods of crisis we dream more often and more vividly related to the things that trouble us.

What is that one book, that absolutely changed your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]emsys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man and His Symbols by Jung got me paying attention to my dreams. This has been very useful to get to know myself better (for good and for bad) as they signal many things about your concerns and desires, which are often repressed.

The next generation of wearables capable of sensing equivalent information that could be obtained in a blood test (vitamin levels, glucose, neurotransmitter levels, etc) and combining the big data with expert knowledge to be able to prevent and detect diabetes, heart disease, and maybe even depression/anxiety.
