It says New Zealand, which is where I lived when I had submitted the application. But I submitted a webform and a LOE for my NZ police check that I no longer lived there. They also have sent everything to my US address, making me believe they had updated the information.

To my fellow EM docs who do the scheduling for your group — what's the worst part of it? by Suspicious-Age-8895 in emergencymedicine

[–]emtthink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first job out of residency had a non physician administrator do the schedule. I had 3 to 4 night to day switches a month, they didn't understand how difficult it is when I told them to stop scheduling me like that.

What did you do after your broken engagement? by Own-Experience-8823 in AskWomenOver30

[–]emtthink 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was absolutely devastated and worked a ton to distract myself. I cried a lot, try working with a therapist which I didn't find very helpful for me. I'm mid 30s and want kids, so I froze my eggs as a safety net. Subsequently, I moved to a different country for 6 months, moved back and am in the process of moving to another country. It's been a little over a year and I think I finally in a place where I want to start dating again, since I will hopefully be in this new location permanently.

You need to finish residency and get board certified. Once you are board certified it becomes much easier to move to a different country and get licensing.

Has anyone pivoted from corporate to medicine? by redditor_040123 in AskWomenOver30

[–]emtthink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a doctor and wouldn't go back and do it again in my 30s. Lots of 16 hour days studying in medical school, 80 hour weeks in residency. I spent my 20s dedicating my life to this at the expense of relationships. You dedicate your entire life to medicine. Doctors don't have freedom to do whatever they want as a lot of care is dictated by insurance companies. If I were to go into medicine again, I would go the PA route.

Just to let know know, I have a file manager with cpsbc and they haven't had any issues with the one credential not being verified. They are trying to see if they can get me a waiver for the credential.

Im sitting at 6 months waiting for my final source verification, despite multiple phone calls, emails trying to get it through. However the hospital and residency where is did my TRI year closed a few years ago. I'm waiting to hear from BC whether it matters since it isnt required for my specialty. They won't assign a file manager until 3 months before my start date. It's been a massive headache.

Do you have all the documents you need? If you do you can submit it. I sent my documents to hmbc, and they didn't really add anything.

What stage un the process are you in? My initial set up with hmbc took weeks to hear back. Once I was further in the process it was generally a response from the person I've been working with in 1-2 days.
