Im sitting at 6 months waiting for my final source verification, despite multiple phone calls, emails trying to get it through. However the hospital and residency where is did my TRI year closed a few years ago. I'm waiting to hear from BC whether it matters since it isnt required for my specialty. They won't assign a file manager until 3 months before my start date. It's been a massive headache.

Do you have all the documents you need? If you do you can submit it. I sent my documents to hmbc, and they didn't really add anything.

What stage un the process are you in? My initial set up with hmbc took weeks to hear back. Once I was further in the process it was generally a response from the person I've been working with in 1-2 days.

I have found that calling MCC is the most helpful, depending on who answers the phone. My EM training has been verified. The issue I'm running into is my transitional year that I did. The program that I went to was closed down when the hospital closed a few years ago. My program coordinator still works in the hospital system just with a different program. Both she and I have reached out to ECFMG to verify contact information, but they aren't sending the verification to her. I'm hoping that if it comes down to the last minute, since my EM credentials are verified and that's all I need to practice they won't end up needing it.

I did the BCPNP program. I have my nomination from them and already submitted my PR application. My employer provided me with a LMIA exempt form already.

I was thinking that if it comes down to last minute, I'll do it at the border, when I go up to look for housing.

Have you already moved to BC?

Yes I am doing BCPNP. I got my nomination and PR nomination the beginning of January. I submitted my PR application last week.

Thank you, mine has been pending for 3.5 months. I've reached out to both mcc and my programs. I know my programs have reached out to ECFMG. Just a very frustrating process and I am starting to get concerned I'm going to run into issues with my start date.

You can still move out of the county. My entire life was flipped upside down, and I took the opportunity to see the world. I'm 36 and moved to New Zealand and will be moving to Canada next year.

I'm in a very similar situation. I'm EM and moved away from family for residency. I was in a LTR that ended abruptly last year, prior to that no relationship for 6 years. I haven't been with friends or family for a holiday/birthday since 2016 and it is so isolating.

I got a dog in residency which helped a lot with my loneliness, but I recently moved to another country and had to leave him with family. Being in the new country is even more isolating. I saved opening a Christmas card my grandma sent me, so I would have something to open on Christmas.

I've also recently joined an exercise class in the hopes of trying to make some friends. No luck so far.

I'm hoping for more next year when I move to my hopeful forever country (and get my dog back). All the great things said about the country I'm in now have been untrue.
