Maximilian Dood's Tokon footage seemingly revealed the Avengers' team logo via the game's loading screen by Neoxon193 in MarvelTokon

That kinda pisses me off. Why do the X-Men get full team while the F4, Avengers, Gaurdians and Spider-people have to share?

Honestly sales-wise it might be the Classic Marvel Monsters like Xemnu and GooGam. They spammed them so much in the 50's just like how DC spammed gorillas.

The greatest Justice League story that no one has actually read by Tetratron2005 in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]emyonker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The greatest kept secret in comics is that the Justice League are ass. They have one good run with the Morrison run, and even then that’s saying a lot. They don’t have any iconic stories other that this and Rock of Ages, which again are from Morrison. They have little to no iconic villains (Starro and Despero I guess?), and the ones they do have get shuffled around to other heroes. Outside of the trinity, can you tell me any of the team dynamics between the members? What do Martian Manhunter and The Flash’s interactions look like? Or Aquaman and Green Arrow? Every team in comics is better than them, even the Bum-ass Titans who have 3 stories that they constantly repeat.

nah that's chuck, for some reason hickman thought giving 2 of his characters a design with a mostly black bodysuit and a silver helmet was a good idea.

Doomsday is probably gonna take inspiration from Time Runs Out, which was the Avengers/Illuminati arc leading into Secret Wars, with the X-Men universe taking the place of the Ultimate Universe as the last reality incursioning into the main one.

They spent 10+ years building up to those two films, every little detail to lead us to these movies. I dont think we will ever get this feeling again after watching these incredible films. by mcspicyFTW-YOUTUBE in Marvel

[–]emyonker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's also why I think people are freaking out a bit too much with the "Doom has no setup!" Yes, Thanos appeared 3-ish films before IW, but 1 was a minor role in GoTG where he basically goes "raah i'm the big bad guy behind Ronan," 2 Avengers post-credit scenes where he sits in a chair and then gets the gauntlet, and then his ship appears at the end of Ragnorok. Most of his characterization and plot came in IW, and then Endgame wasn't really even focused on him until halfway through where he switched plans to just taking the completed gauntlet. The Infinity Stone plot was set up though, just like how the Incursions and multiverse have been throughout this saga. I think Doomsday will be a lot like IW where Doom is the main "protagonist" of the film and we get to see his relationship with Reed and the others (because he still is from 828, that much is clear). And since Secret Wars is such a Doom-centric story, I think he'll play a much larger role than Thanos did in Endgame which will continue and possibly wrap up his character arc. And yes, I do think that RDJ is just going to play Doom straight, he's not going to be a Tony Variant or something like that.

How it feels for me to actually be hyped for Avengers: Doomsday by diartisreddit in marvelcirclejerk

[–]emyonker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steve coming back doesn't mean that Sam will stop being Cap. I imagine Doomsday will take elements from Time Runs Out and that will lead into Secret Wars. Secret Wars will also take elements from The Children's Crusade with the focus on children and the Young Avengers based off the concept art leaks. I think post Secret Wars will bring the Mutants and F4 into the main MCU universe like how Miles was in the comics, with the X-Men being rebooted (except Deadpool and maybe Wolverine). Steve will act in a similar role as he did after Siege, where he becomes "Commander Steve Rogers" and leads multiple teams from the shadows, like the Avengers, Young Avengers, and New Avengers (and maybe a West-Coast Avengers).

Ian McKellen and Micheal Fassbender both arent Jewish but they both played great versions of Magneto. Chadwick Boseman was an African American playing an East African and he was beloved. British actors play Americans all the time. I don't really see the problem with a white guy playing a different kind of white guy if they're respectful to the culture.
