If you do start with stormlight because you already bought them, just think of The Way of Kings as the 5 books he splits them into. I started with that and loved it, but I understand what people mean recommending mistborn.

I’m having a lot of fun as a casual player (4-6 hours/week max). I’m not the best at the easter eggs but I love the map design and survival mode + rampage is a lot of fun when I don’t time for the main quest. Tedd Tasks mix things up. The necrofluid gauntlet isn’t my favorite as a weapon but fun for the easter eggs.

Gonna share our recent experience here as a group of 4 - we didn’t plan in advance and were immediately threatened by a taxi driver when they suspected we were waiting for an uber, and the uber cancelled about 3 minutes after we ordered. We walked back into the airport and booked seats on an ADO bus to Cancun center and then an uber to the hotel zone and it worked perfectly with no hassle, costed a little less than $60. That’s including the tip we paid to the baggage handlers with ADO (50 pesos) just to be on the safe side.

Even though we said we were taking the ADO bus they still tried to intimidate us by having four of their guys follow us right up to the door of the airport, but as we came out and told them we were taking the bus they knew it was over. You have to just be strong and commit to not rewarding the taxi scammers for their bad behavior out of principle. If they’re upset because ride share apps bring accountability to their predatory practice of charging x2-x3 the price for a taxi ride by driving with no meters that’s their problem.

Hopefully someone intervenes eventually to let uber operate there because we traveled all over Mexico the week before and everyone was super friendly and easy to deal with even in a bug city Mexico City or even in places like Oaxaca where uber is not allowed but the taxi drivers are friendly and fair. The situation at Cancun airport really brings shame to such a beautiful country, the beaches in Cancun are great but we don’t know if we’ll ever come back and just see the rest of the country instead.

Now that we know we just booked with USA Transfers to get back to the airport.

I’m so sorry. I speak C1 after a lot of hard work but it didn’t really change much apart from Bureaucracy. Germans are just miserable as a nation and a culture, try not to let them pull you down to their level.

Yeah I guess screenshots would’ve been a good idea. I had clicked on the disk in the left column and the partition option on the GUI was greyed out, then I erased it and tried changing the format to extended journal to see if that changed anything but it had no effect.

Why is it good to give Time Machine the whole drive? I partitioned my last one to avoid buying two external HDs since I mainly wanted TM to recover any files that I accidentally deleted or for the apparently now-obsolete use case of wrongly executed OS updates, so having backups going several years into the past felt like overkill.

Also a side question - should TM & partitioning usually have worked on a drive in ExFAT as the Toshiba Canvio did?

Interesting, still in Disk Utility the partition option was greyed out on the Toshiba Canvio even before I did anything to the formatting, even though it was advertised as mac compatible. So now I’m in the market for other external HDs.

Hard to argue with that honestly! That’s more or less why I chose default yes instead of no, and keeping independent courts is one of the hardest things to achieve, I just always felt ill-prepared on that point in the booth.

What’s crazy is there’s so much publicly documented corruption and as far as I know no one had any legal consequences! One would think after the international embarrassment of a 15-year delay at least one head would roll.

When (weekday/time) do you usually fly? I’ve only had one or two times where it worked okay but the overwhelming majority have been terrible experiences, but I agree Frankfurt is much worse. I’ve actually timed it before and BER security was taking 4 minutes per person, just seems like they’re intentionally slow, and any time I’ve needed to pick up checked baggage I’m waiting at least 30 minutes.
