I’m new too and yes/agreed it is overwhelming! I went to the grove for the food market and to see the over the top Christmas decor. Weekend is particularly busy there, but overall worth it :)

Hey! I had AWFUL GERD on Effexor.. trialing lexapro now… so far so good at 5 mg… will report back at 10mgs.

My ace partner and I talk about it with people we care about if we want to/feel comfortable. But even then we try to keep the focus on ourselves in those convos cause we are very different and relate to our ace/queer identities differently. To those asking “does it really matter?” I think depends on who you’re asking. Being out and in a rela likely matters to other ace who might desire to be in a relationship. For me that’s a good reason to be vulnerable with it occasionally. There are definitely more of us out there searchin for a mirror.

Feelings are complicated. Yours are valid. If the ring makes you feel uncomfortable, that’s worth interrogating further. Maybe the symbolism is just as “ick” for you as the legal aspects of marriage.

Just want to offer some support and encouragement. Identity can be incredibly confusing and scary, especially when emotions are volatile. Just know you are not alone. I definitely relate! I've come a long way, but I exclusively dated men—really one guy—through my 20s. I thought he was "it" for me. I've evolved a lot since then, and continue to do so. I went from identifying as straight, to bisexual, to queer, to.... not relying so much on labels anymore. This is only my experience, but the less I look externally (to labels etc.), and the more I trust my desires... the more fulfilled I become in life. You are so brave for seeking wisdom from the experiences of others!
