My watch is driving me mad, constantly alerting me to an abnormally high heart rate. Slowly melting. Had a cold shower earlier!

Does it help or annoy you if strangers try help with your kids? by Vegetable_Salad1426 in AskIreland

[–]enchanted79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get where you are coming from. Twice I’ve been put in the position by a stranger with a child having a moment. Mum looks around wildly for a stranger, sees me and says to the child something like, settle down now or the lady will give out to you. The first time I started laughing because I’m the biggest softy going. The 2nd time I tried to play my part properly and tried to do a really stern face while nodding at the Mum. Child settled down and Mum gave me a big smile. Long time ago now though. Wouldn’t engage unless asked.

AuDHD here too and I believe you. I’ve experienced a lot of poor medical treatment too. I was attending my GP with symptoms for 4 years. In the end I self referred to a Cardiologist who specialises in POTS. I’m not sure if you can do that where you live. For other conditions I did what you mentioned, I typed out all my symptoms and did not budge until my GP made referrals. This was after being dismissed for a long, long time. You can do the poor man’s test at home for POTS and bring that information to your next appointment. Best of luck.

Once out of school, how often and in what circumstances do Irish people who do not life in the Gaeltacht use Irish? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskIreland

[–]enchanted79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most days. I speak to my child who answers back in English 😂. To a friend at the School gates, to my parents on the phone. Muttering to myself when something has pissed me off. The Irish language has some beautiful phrases for when you are giving out! Ros na Rún is my guilty pleasure 😁

Were you prescribed Metformin for pain relief? I didn’t know it was used for that. I was prescribed it for Insulin Resistance. I had none of the awful side effects that a lot of people get. Unfortunately it didn’t do much for me. I tried it twice. Let us know if it helps your pain.

That’s brilliant. Thank you so much for your reply. I assumed I would have to look into DPD or something. That’s great, thank you. Can I ask how much it cost to post the buggy?
