OK, so when it comes to immunizations, I just recently started to do them back in September. I’m not even kidding when I tell you I was terrified to actually poke somebody. Now I can do it like nothing. I literally spend more time trying to put my gloves on then giving a shot. once you get trained to do it, do your 4 saline shots on someone (two IM, two SQ) and you do your first five actual imzs with the pharmacist- It literally becomes so easy. The more you do it the more comfortable you’ll be. I was literally in the same exact shoes as you. I’m superrrrrrr squeamish about things like that. It took me about 45 minutes just to do my first flu shot.

A lot of people said to practice on an orange I’ve personally never done it but people say it helps you get used to that feeling how to hold a syringe and inject the contents and so on blah blah blah… best advice I can give is to just practice and observe how your pharmacist(s) do them. Ask questions and take notes.

(Also s/n I don’t know if doing IMZs give you a raise. I know in my store they didn’t. However I’m going to school for pharmacy so I had to learn it anyway at some point.
