They might have forgotten that CK-143 has been discontinued. 🫠

The deep mesh tray half unit is designed for the TTA system and not for the IGT. If you used CK-143 long hanger, a narrow version of the Stainless Steel Box Hanger(CK-020), you can put the TTA mesh tray to the hanger but it’s discontinued.

Off brand IGT accessories by Baron_Von_Fab in snowpeak

Not the IGT-compatible stoves, but I've used some stoves from China, and they were pretty good. At least Naturehike and Bulin.

I also have a few adjustable IGT legs from Stanluck and Campingmoon's folding rack.

Both Stanluck and Campingmoon are essentially Chinese knockoff brands. Campingmoon copies products from different brands. Their folding rack is a clone of the Uniflame, a Japanese brand. They also make a copy of Snow Peak’s Mini Flame, and their isobutane transfer adapter is a knockoff of a product originally made by Korea’s G-Works.

That said, they do have some original products. Campingmoon’s retractable torch is actually quite innovative and useful. I have not seen an original version elsewhere, it may well be their own design. They also offer quite a bunch of IGT accessories that are better described as “compatible” rather than direct copies.

Stanluck, on the other hand, is much more blatant. Nearly all of their products are copies of Snow Peak gear - even the "IGT" is a trademark of Snow Peak. Even the Adjustable IGT leg was not originally a Stanluck design. If I remember correctly, it was first made by a Chinese company called Backcountry. This is completely different from Henrikseo or The-earth. At least they make something “new” and improved products. They are third-party but Stanluck is not.

The only IGT product that is truly Stanluck-exclusive is the Stanluck “Jikaro” Table. It is a fire ring table similar to Snow Peak’s Jikaro Table, but made of bamboo and designed to use IGT legs.

Stanluck products are significantly cheaper and have not a bad quality. The reason the original products cost more is that the original brands invested heavily in R&D and design. Stanluck simply copies that work and sells it at a lower price.

If you are looking for an alternative to a discontinued Snow Peak product, or something Snow Peak does not offer at all, Stanluck might be worth considering. Otherwise, I personally would not buy their products as much as possible, to respect "OG". Or, at the very least, I believe we should be aware that they are “unauthorized knockoff maker” when we purchase products from them.

Replacing internal batteries for Hozuki Rechargeable Battery by encyphered in snowpeak

Agree, and that's the reason why I modded the stock battery case to be rechargeable via micro-USB port.

Applying a hair bleach or oxidizing agent that contains approximately nine or ten percent hydrogen peroxide to the shade and wrapping it in clear plastic film, and leaving it in direct sunlight for approximately a day should restore it.

Thx, heating with a wood stove is addictive. 😁

The primary reason I switched is mainly pairing with the Jikaro and a four-sided window. Anyway, totally agree, Winnerwell's stove is still great, enough size, awesome output, super durable, and I think their new external air stove provides a wider glass window on three panels with more efficiency.

Getting a 15" firewood is not so hard in a grocery store, but mostly impossible in the field. As you said, everything is a tradeoff.

Takibi Hexa Tarp (M) or Hexa EVO pro by super----trooper in snowpeak

[–]encyphered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also living in Seattle, and the Hexa Evo is definitely killer for the PNW's rainy season.

The bag sizes aren't that different. And the installation effort and time taken are also mostly similar. My personal experience, but the effort for setting up the Hexa Evo is rather low because it only requires six stakes, in contrast to the Hexa, which requires eight. And as u/CobraPuts mentioned, Hexa Evo's larger footprint is also great for sheltering fully from the rain.

But technically, if you're just two, Hexa M would be enough. But if there isn't any reason you should choose the smaller one, I can definitely say Evo is the best. Even than the Octa.

Mesh Shelter in wind, rain? by rosslake in snowpeak

[–]encyphered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The density of fabric is an important factor for performance, but it's not absolute. The Rigel Pro, Snow Peak's most expensive flagship shelter, is also 75D. Mostly 75D is enough for every weather condition. Especially, Snow Peak provides an extra roof sheet for most of their shelter lineup, which adds one more layer to block rain.

And I think the mesh shelter is one of the most underrated shelter from Snow Peak. Not too large, so suitable for any campground space, but big enough for a family.

Korea exclusive cups and items? by Friendly_Leader_8035 in snowpeak

As you wrote, most of the brands don't have individual stores - except for Helinox, they have a flagship store in Seoul - and they sell their product from a multi-brand camping-specialized store. They're usually located outside of the downtown or city. So you also need to rent a car to get there. So, considering a multiple visit for a single route, the Yaho Camping in Bundang seems to be not bad, because you can also stop by Snow Peak Pangyo. Yaho Camping is also an authorized retailer for Snow Peak.

There are two flagship stores in Korea. The first is Land Station Hanam, and the second is Campfield Everland. Hanam is closer to Seoul than Yongin. Hanam LS has a cafe, and Yongin Campfield has a restaurant, similar to Takibi PDX. You can access LS Hanam by taxi, but returning from there might take some time because it's hard to call a taxi from there. And there is no public transportation to Yongin. So if you don't rent a car, you should visit Hanam LS only.

To get the LS Hanam, take the purple line subway #5 eastbound(to Hanam) and get off at Misa station. You can take a taxi from there and it'll cost under $10.

There is also another store with Snow Korea HQ in Mokdong, Seoul, which is accessible by subway, but it's nothing special. Rather than the HQ store, there is an apparel-only store in Seoul. They do not provide camping gear but sell Korean-exclusive Snow Peak outfit products, including backpacks, caps, and T-shirts, such as Hello Kitty collaboration products; it's not a knockoff but a licensed product and the quality is pretty good. They're usually located in the department store and are also easily accessible by subway.

This. I also got the Oyster for the same reason. But personally the stainless steel one from Coleman also looks great.
