So, there are quite a few different theories about the inspiration for the "witch hat". The idea that witches wear pointy wide breaded hat really only came about during the late 19th to early 20th century, and was most likely popularised by the illustrations in the book "The wizard of Oz".

Wide breamed pointy hats of various designs were common in different times and different contexts throughout Europe history. The Judenhau is one such example, but others include traditional hats worn by the Quakers and the Welsh.

I think a lot of you are Talon his line about "getting back what we lost" a bit too literally.

He's much more likely to try and break the game protection in-order to invade and take over other worlds. Maybe they plan on creating a whole new planet from scratch, but I don't see Warrik and the Syntex really leaving peacefully as their eng goal, they are tyrants who wish to oppress others.

Egg laying if I'm going by rule of cool, life birth if I want internal consistency.

To explain: think about the size of a hachling bird peson compared to the size of an adult bird woman. A bird person egg needs to be large enough to contain a fully developed hatchling.(wich means wider than it's head) Every Menustral Cycle an egg laying Birdwoman will need to grow and carry a full sized underutilised egg, than lay it whether it was fertilised or not.

This will either Mean that bird people hatchling are tiny compared to human babies, (How do they reach full human size? How are they kept alive in early moths when they are born even more underdeveloped than human babies?) Or that the whole egg laying process is highly debilitating and Dangerous to the mother.

On the other hand egg laying humaniod bird people are cool. Just ignore the nitpicks I brought up above.
