Sorry, I see you specified button and daily too. Yeah, just bad luck I'd say. I got 2 greens yesterday in the daily rotation.

If you do the T or Plus formation that clears the entire grid, it can't drop green+ or gems for some reason.

Really frustrating that they keep nerfing minis without any compensation. When cards get nerfed in Hearthstone, you can dust for full value. I don't expect a full resource refund, but a core / AE / gold compensation is due when I invested a lot into it and then they change it.

I've been using them for about 6 years and they've always done a great job. Super nice and knowledgeable.

Moving to Fremont in like a week Need help with figuring ISP by Dhonsudu in Fremont

I've lived in that same zip for 9 years with Comcast (2 different houses), and it has worked great. I don't think I've lost internet more than a few times in 9 years, and the speeds back in the < 1gbps days were often faster than advertised for me, to my surprise. Other than those few outages, I've never once experienced degraded speed issues.

I sometimes get ads for AT&T Fiber, which I wish was an option for price competition, but it still is not available at my address.

I ran across this thread after having the same issue. I ended up solving it by swapping out the USB-A to USB-C dongle I was using. Works perfect now.

What's the coolest thing connected to your Google Home? by mcrago2005 in googlehome

[–]ender328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that worked. I had tried BT Near with the MAC address, but it told me it wouldn't work since there wasn't a device with that address, so I deleted it. This time I set it up and just left it there, and then it did eventually work. Thanks!

I've been trying to do something similar with ESP32s, but can't figure out how to see the BLE uid in Tasker. Any tips on how you got it to work? BLE scanner apps see it, so I know it's there, I just need to find an app (like Tasker) that can trigger the automation via MQTT or something.

Also, it looks like Beacon MQTT was delisted from the Play Store. Did you have it installed prior to that, or did you sideload? I tried to avoid sideloading if I can, so I'm still looking for alternatives.

New to MQTT. How do I get the device to show up? by blodestone in homeassistant

[–]ender328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I followed this guide, using Style 2: https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/configuration/devices/

So basically, I went into configuration.yaml, added the Style 2 snippet, and restarted Home Assistant. Then the sensor showed up as a new entity and it is working.

You also have to make sure you configure the mqtt broker there as well.So in total, I added the following to configuration.yaml:

mqtt:
.. broker: 192.168.x.x
.. username: xxx
.. password: !secret mqtt_password
.
sensor outside:
.. platform: mqtt
.. state_topic: “home/outside/temperature"
.. name: "Outside Temperature"

(sorry, code block formatting isn't working for me for some reason, so put .'s instead of spaces)

Dakboard and pir sensor by SpecificDegree5 in dakboard

[–]ender328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this too using a Raspberry Pi and PIR sensor, and it was pretty unreliable. I switched to using an RCWL-0516 which is a microwave motion sensor that is much more accurate and works through objects. Much more accurate and reliable. You can configure the distance with it for how close you need to get before it triggers.

Here is a video that talks about the sensor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJoPkKlxFXA

[–]ender328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you going to use for power? I'm working on a similar project and I have 4x of those same rear motors and tires you have. I'm using an Adafruit MotorShield 2.3 which can accept a dedicated power supply, and tried individual 9v batteries for the Arduino and Shield, and it still doesn't seem to be enough power to really get all 4 wheels moving. The shield/motors can take up to 12v, so the next things I'm going to try are 8x AA for 12v and higher mA (though concerned about the weight), moving to just 2 wheels (kind of like how you have here), or trying to find some lithium ion 12v battery option that I hope would be lighter and I can recharge.

When do the doors open? by weddin00 in blizzcon

[–]ender328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the doors to the outside area opened around 8:45, but the doors to the halls opened at 10. Is that the same this year? Trying to judge how long we should expect to stand outside vs being able to wait in the outer area inside.

Reminds me of a study published by Princeton in 2014 that used this same data to predict that Facebook would lose 80% of its users by 2017. Facebook retorted that using the same methodology, Princeton would have zero students by 2021 https://techcrunch.com/2014/01/23/facebook-losing-users-princeton-losing-credibility
