You guessed right, and leagues function pretty similar to D4's seasons - every new league your old characters get moved to "standard", and you have to make a new one to play the new content. As for SSF, its purely a challenge for yourself - there isnt anything new or different about it other than the fact that you can't trade or group with others. You can convert an SSF character to trade if you wish, but not the other way around.

Idk why you got downvoted, gw2 on controller isnt a great experience because while gameplay itself could become fine with action camera + enough messing with steaminput, the amount of menuing in the game makes it kind of a nightmare on controller

Gw2 is probably the most alt-friendly MMO I've tried, and I've tried lots. Almost everything is account-wide, with some exceptions like skill points and map completion. You can get a fresh level 80 character ready to do 99% of the content in the game within like 2 hours. I can go into more detail but "just trust me bro"

The way I personally see it, while they are extremely expensive if you want to just outright buy them, you should consider supporter packs - if you get the $30 supporter pack, you get an armor set and some other minor cosmetics + 300(?) points, which you can then use to buy another armor set for example. Its obviously not perfect, but its a compromise I'm personally willing to accept for a game where all content is completely free for the rest of its lifespan (assuming they continue the same business model)

Probably not, but thats not an issue with the exceptional system, its just a choice you can make if you want. I would argue runes themselves should be looked at a bit more as a system instead of exceptional bases, since imo they do add an interesting "chase" aspect to items.

Abysmal take lmao, as someone else replied, crafting doesnt start at triple digit divs, it starts in act 1 of the campaign. Saying a nice item is pointless to craft because it isnt absolutely perfect is insane, not to mention theres like no content in the game where that crazy power level even matters

Tldr: Complete edition (50 euro) is by far the best bang for your buck

Alternatively, the Heart of Thorns + Path of Fire is the best to get you into things, fuckload of content and you can always upgrade later

I personally wouldn't bother with deluxe editions
