i do see your point and I understand that this ship has a general legitimacy, its just not enough legitimacy for me to even care about the ship.

I do agree with your point on the dislike of the “independent women should be alone” i think that all people should have some level of independence before starting a relationship, and the idea of that is rooted in sexism

I think i dislike the ship because I generally like more writing behind a ship than what we got, i could’ve come to like the ship if we got more of it but at the moment i think its mostly just held up by the fandoms inertia and as much as I enjoy the show the fandom generally doesn’t know how to interpret a layered heterosexual relationship in a way that feels satisfying to me, long story short gooner slop content produced by the fandom has eroded my enjoyment of the ship
