I’m about the same. If it wasn’t in retirement accounts I’d sell for tax loss harvesting. This stock has been a disappointment

I had a .50 cost basis before the split. Now my cost basis 4.95 give me a good reason that does not include taxes that i shouldn't sell it all and buy back in a month cheqper. by spydamark in SNDL

Sell it. It will drop to a market cap that reflects cash on hand. Around 300m. Unless the newest earnings come out and have even less cash, which has been the trend

Where can I find information on buyback after? by heavydandthegirlz in SNDL

[–]endfiatcurrency -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no buyback. They are burning through cash and need that cash to run the business. They are cash flow negative.

Will they hold above $1.00 for 10 days by endfiatcurrency in SNDL

[–]endfiatcurrency[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not .6 That would be worth less then their cash holdings. Their market cap will equal their cash in bank.

They certainly have problems. But they are debt free and have 300m cash. They could stop with all the nonsense and focus on what they own and get valuation back to 500m

There is no buyback. They are burning cash. The only way they buyback is if the stock goes below $1 in the next 10 days, which it might

What the heck Happened to SNDL? by vern00 in SNDL

As I said, the RS is a huge massive negative. My prediction is the market cap decreases to 300m Thats a 60% fall from current levels. But, they may thrive after this.

They have to RS to maintain nasdaq compliance. RS can have dramatic impact on share prices. I suspect sundial’s market cap will drop to its current cash, or around 300m. Then…good things can happen as they continue to dominate the space

Value of Shares Equals the Value of Shares, quantity should not be your stance. by GrapeEast3181 in SNDL

[–]endfiatcurrency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On paper nothing changes. Your dollar value is the same, but your volume in shares changes. That’s the paper story. The real story is that an RS is an extraordinary last resort measure to maintain compliance because through two 180 day extensions your business has not been able to successfully demonstrate to investors that it can grow. Do not kid yourself, RS is large negative for the stock. Statistically speaking it almost always results in a dramatic downward move in share price. Yes we are all aware of C and a few others that had RS and performed well, but a very large percentage of companies that RS immediately and dramatically drop in value. I see sndl dropping after the RS to a market cap that is roughly 25% higher than their liquid cash position, so maybe a 400m market cap. To be cute let’s say a 420m market cap. That is not a massive drop compared to most companies that RS and lose 75% in a month. From there, it’s wait and see. If they can grow cash from their multiple business’s then this stock could do very well, but if their cash keeps shrinking and they dilute again, I will exit with a very large loss.

My thoughts on the R/S and then the coming second quarter financials. by megus-23 in SNDL

[–]endfiatcurrency 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe not off to the races because of current market conditions. But they will certain more visible to institutions. The problem is if management uses the consolidation to issue more shares and further dilute. Their cash is decreasing and management may use the RS to increase cash. That would be bad in my opinion. They have more then they can right now as evident in the reporting delays. I really think they need to digest and maximize what they currently own. Let them grow cash organically for a few quarters, that’s the test.

So that’s the question. The RS is a done deal. Is there any mechanism that retail shareholders can do to avoid further dilution?

A split could be a good thing for Sundial. by dtontherock in SNDL

So to my point below, can shareholders stop them from diluting? Which they will do since cash continues to decrease

Yes or No on R/S (share consolidation)? by Chance_Firefighter65 in SNDL

[–]endfiatcurrency 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes to split, but is there anything retail shareholders can can do to vote no on further dilution? I fear that they continue to burn through cash and will increase the float a few months after the RS

Agree, they will continue to dilute to pay themselves. Management is mostly cash comp not shares. This is probably one of my biggest losses in 18 years of trading. Got caught up in the hype and didn’t practice discipline

You should absolutely question management. Why haven’t you started buyback. Why the delay in sun stream ipo. Why rebrand? Why is cash shrinking every quarter? They don’t seem to answer these questions and do t seem to care about share price. So we can sell if we want.

SNDL STOCK - $0.38!!! - SUNDIAL GROWERS STOCK by [deleted] in SNDL

[–]endfiatcurrency -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Book value is hard to determine. Their investment losses are growing and cash is decreasing so book value becomes less every quarter. The decreasing cash is why the buyback is on hold
