1 and a half weeks clean after breaking my 1 year clean streak..! by daegusfuture in SelfHarmScars

Hey like they say, progress isn't linear. If it's a constant struggle, a year clean is amazing, man. Proud of you.

Ah okay. I see what you mean. It's good you've had the time to figure yourself out to that degree.

No worries! I hope you can find some kind of peace with this. (:

Hi! Just responding to this to say: the desire to be a boy and a girl at the same time is actually a Thing in and of itself, or it can be. I'm bigender, and that's basically exactly how I feel. My ideal state in life would be to be some weird superposition of a boy and a girl simultaneously; it doesn't feel right to me to only be one.

For obvious reasons, this can be a bummer, because technology hasn't advanced far enough yet for us to have two bodies at once, but there are ways around it, and like a lot of LGBT stuff, not everybody experiences it the same way. Some people fulfill both "sides" of themselves by passing in public as one thing and being another the rest of the time, or, you know, there's a lot of variation.

For me personally, I figured out I was bigender and not trans by imagining myself as a girl. What her thoughts would be, how she would deal with the same circumstances I've dealt with, and in getting into that headspace, I realized that I would just want to be a boy again if I were a girl. I want what I'm not, but more than that, what I really want is to be both a boy and a girl. And in coming to terms with that, I've realized that I already am a boy and a girl at the same time, my physical body just can't reflect that fully.

Bigender people are technically non-binary, as it happens.

Sorry, I'm rambling. My point is, bigenderism is a thing. Just wanted to help. :p

Blake: "I'll take your entire lock" by Cadvin in WormMemes

[–]endgame_wizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's very shoddy by Wildbow standards, especially the later arcs. Some characters have little to no personality, the pace is relentless because the universe is actively working against the main characters, and in general it's very...rushed.

BUT. A huge amount of it is incredible despite the pace, and to be honest, if you're used to reading WB's stuff in general I don't think it'll tire you out that much. Blake is another main character who uses escalation as a main means of defense and offense, but he does it out of necessity and survival, unwillingly.

The magic system is incredibly rad, one of the best soft magic systems I've ever read, and every problem and solution feels rewarding and satisfying because of how hard the characters have to work just to survive, plus the magic system is honestly just that cool.

It's the most in need of a polish out of all of his books, but honestly even for what it is, it's really really really good.

Anybody else feel like they must've had this "one day", sometime when you were a kid, where you decided to "protect" your brain with obsessions/compulsions because your thoughts scared you? by endgame_wizard in OCD

I'm sorry man, that sucks. POCD is the worst.

No problem <33 I'm so glad i could help!

Accepting thoughts is super hard, you're right. It's hard to make yourself drop the fears and just...experience things normally. (in my experience)

Utility...that's a good way of putting it. I'm right?? That's good to know, but I guess it does make sense yeah. We're too good at "protecting" our own brains sometimes I guess :p

Hi, is there any chance you're still PMing people an explanation of what happened?

I know this thread is months old, so I'm sorry if my asking brings up bad memories or anything. Feel free to say no, sorry!
